My Review of The Sov. Of The Seas...

Recommended Posts

First off, to all the CC members I met on our recent cruise, what a pleasure it was meeting you all and hearing your stories! Each and everyone of you are great folks and it was a pleasure cruising with you!!:)

Arrived at the Port about 10:30 am. Due to problems with the sewer pumping, we were delayed for a while. I think we got on board about 1pm. Off to the Windjammer for lunch. I did not realize that it wraps around, and that different food options are offered. Great selections. Met the wonderful CC at 3pm. It was funny seeing ones walk around with Mardi Gra beads and aksing them if they were CC members.

Yes, we had an interior room w/ 4 people. It really was not that bad. Since we did not stay in the room much but to sleep, change and nap dd, it was not a huge deal! My "pleather" frames did not arrive until the next night, my cabin steward forgot them..lol

The ship is still a beauty! We had wonderful dining room head/assistant/waiters. Nigel, Lopez and Martin...if you get these guys, you will be treated like royality. Every night, they would have my kids "Shirley Temple" drinks waiting on them. They knew what dd wanted. Very attentive. The food options were wonderful! If you are not dining in the Mirage or Illusion diningrooms, you truely are missing out on a great experience!

The shows were good. I enjoyed the comedy shows the most. The Quest was a blast! They announced that anyone under 18 should leave the room. Beside us was two boys who looked to be about 8 & 5. Their mom left them to watch. I was disappointed that she did not respect the rules enough to leave with them. I'm sure the boys got an eye full, but I blame the parents, not the others for what they may have seen...

CoCo Cay was great! Weather was warm & awesome. Nassua was nice as well. Next time, I will avoid the Straw Market, the locals hound you to buy their (mostly) crap and I was worried about my dd the entire time. We quickly went back to the boat and enjoyed the semi-emptyness of the ship.

Great cruise. The ship is great. No poo-poo smell at all. I would love to book another soon!

If anyone has any questions, I would be free to answer!

Hi I am thinking of taking a "girls trip" in april with my mother in law and some friends and i was wondering if you could answer a few questions?

Are the beds comfy? I have only been on carnival and i love their bedding

Do they have clocks in the cabins or do you have to bring your own?

Is the food good in the dining rooms or was it just so so

Are there lots of places to lay out?

Did you feel alot of movement on the ship?

What exactly is coco cay? Is it just a beach and to lay out do you have to rent beach chairs??

I may think of more soon:)

Yes, my kids did AO. LOVED it! They both woke up every morning and begged to go. The counselors are great and I have no doubts your children will love it as well!

Great to know, thank you! I know my daughter will love it, she easily makes friends, my son is more into playing alone so I worry about him. Thankfully they will be in the same group so that may help.

Hi Heather!

*Beds were oh so comfy!

*No clocks in my room (inside interior) you can call and have a wake up call sent.

*The food was wonderful! No complaints. If you happen to get Lopez, Nigel or Martin, they are awesome!!

*Plenty of room on the pool upper/lower decks. Just have to find a seat before the "chair hogs" strike! ;)

*Movement...to be honest, I did not feel anything until the last day. We hit some rough seas and I got pretty seasick! But overall, not really, only when the waves are rough.

*CoCo Cay was very pretty. There are chairs out that you can lie in, free. Just gotta find one. I suggest waling further away, more private beach area. The rentals is for snorkel, mats, etc. They have a yummy BBQ for you there on the beach.

If you think of anything else, just let me know. :)

As one of the other CC members on this cruise I have to say.....ditto!!

The only thing I would add is, if you get a chance, don't miss the 'dueling pianos' in the Boleros Lounge. The only drawback was that it never started before 10:45-11:00.

This was our first cruise on one of the 'smaller' ships, but we never felt crowded. Our only wait was for Johnny Rockets on the last day. But even that was only about 20 minutes. My only complaint is that I didn't win at bingo or in the casino. (but then, I never do!!)

BTW - did Cole finish his report for school???

It was so nice meeting you guys!

Sorry about the bingo/casino. I pulled the lever 4 times and ended up with ziltch...which is what I expected.

Yes, Cole finshed up last night. I'm still waiting for the pics to be developed. Wal-Marts 1 hour photo machine is broken down, so my pics are just hanging there...lol Thanks for asking!

Paula, they have to. It's strictly adults only.........they want to be sure the little ones have gone to bed. ;)
