ECBoca2 Posted February 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2007 I'm planning a scavenger hunt during a weekend cruise on Majesty of the Seas for our group of 21 fun loving cruisers. I have some ideas of items to include but I need alot more items to make the search interesting. They will be working in teams and there will be prizes. All experienced cruisers please offer some suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help... Eileen

la_croisiere_s'amuse Posted February 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2007 How about a cruise-related phrase or sentence in three different languages? (the idea being to ask crew members to translate it) I always wanted to know how to say 'chair hogs' in Lithuanian, Vietnamese and Romanian! :D

Eileen I've only been on 2 cruises, do i count as experienced, lol? Will you be looking for items only from people who work on the ship, or will you be asking other guests too? Hmm, ok, the other posters had suggestions about taking pictures of things, so if you do that, here are some things to take pictures of: a picture of someone on the team (or anyone, i guess) standing in front of the elevators on every floor. a picture of someone asleep Wow, this is hard! Now, if you ask guests for things, you would have to note who and what you got so you could return it? You would have to find someone new to cruising who brought all the junk that experienced cruisers found out they didn't need, lol! That list might include: highlighter, bungee cord, duct tape, etc. Wow, i don't know how much help i've been. the longer i have thought about what to look for, the more i have realized that none of my ideas are really any good, lol! Sounds like fun! good luck! ECBoca2 Posted February 16, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted February 16, 2007 I do like the idea of asking the staff for the correct phrase in their native language. Pictures won't work because I don't think everyone has a camera phone or a polaroid with them. The napkins from the bar and signed is on my list. Any ideas about the 2 Ports for a scavenger item- Coco Cay and Nassau/Paradise Island?
ECBoca2 Posted February 18, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted February 18, 2007 For anyone who has already visited Coco Cay- anything you can suggest as an item to add to my list? Something from a shop, buffet, nature path? Thanks for any help!! Eileen
CoronaCpl Posted February 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2007 a picture of someone on the team (or anyone, i guess) standing in front of the elevators on every floor. That is a cruel idea!!! On some ships it would take forever to get this one accomplished.... but definitely fun! How about: A Bar Menu signed by the Ship's Bar Manager A Compass signed by the CD A Dinner menu signed by the Executive Chef

emilygrace Posted February 18, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2007 Whenever we cruise as a group and my TA is part of the group she always has a "scavenger hunt" type activity, but instead of having to bring things back, she makes up a sheet with questions about stuff all over the ship and you have to find the answers....such as: What is the most expensive bottle of champagne sold on the ship? What is the color of the carpet in front of the elevators on deck 10? What is the Captain's name? How much is a ______ in the spa? She picks something from the spa menu. What color are the doors to AO? Well, you get the idea. This way we're running all over the ship, trying to be the first ones back with all the answers, but we don't have to haul a bunch of stuff. There's usually about 20 questions.

Cruisin-Family Posted February 18, 2007 #12 Share Posted February 18, 2007 How about from CoCoCay: The 'drink of the day' souvenir cup - it says CocoCay on it.... , the silverware 'pack' from lunch on the island, From Nassau: If it is an all day kind of hunt, it could be something that they have to come back with from the Paradise Island, like a flyer from the hotel or Cassino..., Taxi recpt, A MUST if you allow pix.. a pix of a PIRATE with your whole team. Nassau is filled with staues of pirates!!!, From the ship, how about... someones bikini bottoms, Anything with Cruise critic on it (you know how we love our freebies...), unused color luggage tag from our document package - not from your group, Also, since most of us have digital cameras now, so maybe the pix ON the camera could count... This was a blast - makes me wanna participate!!!! Have a blast

ECBoca2 Posted March 3, 2007 Author #14 Share Posted March 3, 2007 These were very good ideas. If anyone who has been on The Majesty and can add any more suggetions for my scavenger hunt questions, please post. I think 20 questions would be about right to keep the group busy! Thanks again for any help. Eileen

vickiw0318 Posted March 8, 2007 #19 Share Posted March 8, 2007 How 'bout a cocktail napkin from one of the restaurants close to the dock in Nassau? It's been a while, but I think there was a Senor Frog's nearby.
Rare DCPIV Posted March 8, 2007 #20 Share Posted March 8, 2007 Give extra points for each of those rubber keychains you get for activities. :) And, whatever you do, don't put the elevator picture thing on there. I'd use the stairs, myself, but some folks may not figure that out. From what I hear, the elevators are slow enough without someone tying one up for a scavenger hunt. :) D

denamo Posted March 11, 2007 #23 Share Posted March 11, 2007 Who is the maitre d', head chef, hotel manager, wine steward? What flag does the ship sail under? Something from the spa - schedule sheet perhaps List of excursions from one day or a Compass from a past day Another idea for your scavenger hunt: If this was done in teams, as long as someone on the team had a digital camera, then you could have pictures from various locations. You could even be tricky and make them figure out clues of where to go or what to find. Clue -Giant photo album on ship Where to go (not included on the sheet)- photo gallery where everyone goes to find pictures taken by ship's photo crew Clue - Great acts committed here Theater Clue - Dance the night away Viking Crown Lounge I think you get the idea Have a great time! denamo
