Take the link and use the Insert Picture icon (little yellow mountain). Paste the link into the dialog box and click OK.

It will surround the image address with

[img=http://lh3.ggpht.com/_n70jrK76DMM/Sf4...blah, blah, blah...etc.]

tags and display it as a picture like this:

The Zaandam was in Vancouver today. The picture below was taken from the newly constructed Convention Center looking east. It's nice to have this different angle of the ships in port.

Why does the picture not show on my post. I copy the direct line to image, I then click on CC new post, I then click on "Insert Image" yhe yellow square with mounyain and paste link in message area, but noyhing happens when I post. It just shows the link. Should something happen when I click the yellow box, because nothing does, I have tried clicking it before I post the link, after I post the link, highlighted the link and then click on yellow box but nothing happens.

THis should be a picture of P&O Ventura in Monte Carlo.

Like this ...

Okay, here is what I do ...

1) I left click on your link.

2) That takes me to the picture.

3) I am using Firefox (not IE).

4) I right click on the picture.

5) A pop-up menu appears.

6) I left click on copy image location.

7) I come back to my post.

8) I left click on the yellow box.

9) I right click on the space where the address should go.

10) A little menu pops up.

11) I left click on paste.

12) I left click on the "OK" button.

13) The image appears in my post.

Thanks for your help and being so patient, I am with you up to no 9, but when I right click no 10, no menu pops up for me to paste my link, and can find no OK to click

Yet it seems to work for you on my pictures, shows Ventura leaving Southampton, having overtaken Queen Mary 2, it is now approaching Queen Elizabeth 2 about to leave on her last transatlantic crossing.

Check to see if you get a popup window warning at the top of your browser window. A popup blocker will keep the dialog box from opening.

What operating system and browser are you using? Windows (XP, Vista) Mac - Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari?

Okay, Pierces may be onto something here. He is also more knowledgeable about photographs than I am. That said, I use Firefox at work and at home. I have XP at work and on one computer at home. I have Vista on two computers at home (yes, I have three working computers at home). I do the same thing with each.

There are other ways to make this work ...

1) If you can get the HTML code, then copy that into the link (the earth with the chain in the bottom right corner - three to the left of the yellow box). That is what I did here ...

2) Get the image code and just paste it, like this ...

May22_08.jpg

Using this method you will not see the picture, so you have to preview it (the button to the right of the submit reply button). That is what I did here ...

See if one of these two methods will work for you.

The 'direct link' from my Picasa albums does not work for me. I just hunted down the post from Dave (pierces) that helped me linking to my Picasa pictures:

Here's the code from "HTML to embed in website" after setting the image size to 800.

<a href="xttp://picasaweb.google.com/pierce324/Alaska/photo#5043798254343509106"><img src="xttp://lh3.google.com/pierce324/Rf8rygThVHI/AAAAAAAABMA/kL3-9vwt_vc/s800/Alaska%202006%20-%20Day%206%20-%20Icy%20Strait%20154.JPG" /></a>

(I replaced the "http" with "xttp" so it wouldn't be a real link.)

The green/bold text is the part that you paste into the "Insert Image" dialogue box.

The "Insert Image" box is the yellow one with the mountain.

Good Luck !!
