We first sailed on the Grand Princess in 1998 -- out of Istanbul -- Inaugural season.

Oooooh was it brand new then? I was my first cruise from Southampton loved it, we kept getting lost on it right to the end, I don't know how we will cope on the Independence of the Seas. Looking at all the beautiful pictures reminds me of why cruising is definitely for me. :)

Yes -- 1998 -- June.

Back then the Skywalker club was way up high at the back of the ship -- made her back end look like the handle of a shopping cart.

I have been up very early many mornings in Ft Lauderdale watching the ships come in with all their lights on. A very pretty sight.

Love the pictures.

The night picture of the Star Princess is very nice.

We have sailed quite a few times on the Ansterdam. Looks like she was going to dock at pier 29 in Aruba. We docked there in 2012 when we were on the Maasdam. It is quite a walk from that pier to get to town.
