yst347 Posted March 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2007 Sunset beach is about a mile from the pier. You can read alot about Sunset beach on the Jamaica board where this thread is being moved.
mmartin1 Posted March 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2007 We were there about 3 weeks ago and it was great!! It is all inclusive for the $40 food drinks and nonmotorized toys, snorkeled for the first time there. When you get there go to the check in desk and get a coupon for towel use, you have to return towel. It was only about a 5 min cab ride from the dock. Have Fun
shrimp0 Posted March 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2007 We were there last week. It was a great deal!!! Yes, dont forget to ask for your towel coupon. I am not sure we would have received it if I had not asked. The bars were great, the pools were clean, the water in the ocean was warm and clean. Cant ask for much more for a few hours of fun and relaxation!!!! The only negative was the food at the grill. However, I am sure the food in the restaurant was much better.... as we saw many more people inside there. However, we did not feel like getting dressed and going inside... since we had limited time to enjoy there. So, we managed a few bites at the grill... just dont get the hot dog... I think it was actually playdough. Enjoy all the different drinks.. including the drink of the day... enjoy the sun and the fun and all will be good!!!!!! retrogem Posted March 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2007 we are leaving on Radiance tomorrow and will be in Montego Bay on Thursday - is the Sunset Beach adventure available at the port once off the ship? RCCL does not offer Sunset Beach only Breezes for $98 pp. If it is offered in the terminal, we did this once in St. Lucia with an all inclusive and except for the watered down drinks, it was well worth the price. thanks for the help. shrimp0 Posted March 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2007 This is only available at the resort... you can not book this through the ship. Yes, theirs is twice the price at a Breezes... why go there when you can get the same for half price and few people will be there!!!! Just go to the cab area and tell them you want to go to Sunset Beach... it is just outside the gate and to the right... maybe a mile down the road. They will drop you outside the gate of the resort... there a security guard will escort you in... just tell them you want a cruise passenger day pass. They will take you to the desk where they will take one sea pass card.... which you will get back when you leave. Remember to ask for towel vouchers and you will have a nice day at the beach!!! I did not find the drinks to be watered down... infact, some were quite strong!!!!
arkycruisers Posted March 10, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted March 10, 2007 its about a $3 cab ride but be sure you take a JUTA cab--the others guys might take you twice around the island before they get to sunset beach i dont think anyone books this resort as a preplanned excursion --i found out about it reading the board -there is another thread in this section that has plenty more on sunset resort they also have a website www.sunsetbeach.com

For the $25 you still got everthing included? What did you do, just tell them the day your ship would be there?

Robin & Dan Posted March 20, 2007 #15 Share Posted March 20, 2007 On Sunset's website I noticed a water park. Is this at the resort or a separate property, and is it included in the same fee? $40/adult, $20/child. My kids would love this.
SmileyFaceM Posted March 20, 2007 #16 Share Posted March 20, 2007 The water park is part of the resort. :D Great deal, isn't it? Michelle
vikeqn Posted March 21, 2007 #17 Share Posted March 21, 2007 What an incredible day. I am a travel snob- I grabbed a cab with 5 of my family and friends and went to SSB for the day. I have been on 15 cruises and to at least 10 all inclusives. This place was awesome. The water park, ocean, beach, pools, bars and drinks were awesome. For 40 bucks it is a steal. The lunch at the grill could have been better but we were dripping wet and really didn't care. The pizza was good. The service was good as were the shots. The kids snorkled and came face to face with an eel. Please do not waste your money on more expensive excrusions. This place is tons of fun. vikeqn Posted March 22, 2007 #20 Share Posted March 22, 2007 We just kept our stuff on chairs where we were located. Kind of kept moving it around. I didn't notice a great deal of kids. Ofcourse there were more kids in the water park but not tons. I didn't notice any large number of certain groups. It really wasn't crowded. We had a great day. singledad Posted March 22, 2007 #21 Share Posted March 22, 2007 Before my cruise last year, I read all I could about things to do in Jamaica for me and my kids. Sunset Beach was the perfect choice for my family. We had a great time along with our CC's group. Check out the video montage link below for the pics of Sunset Beach. Rare hcat Posted March 23, 2007 #22 Share Posted March 23, 2007 How dressed do you have to get to go into the buffet restaurant for lunch? Would shorts & top over a dry bathing suit be OK ? Would rather have that than the food described above from the grill--is the buffet area nice?

volive Posted March 26, 2007 #24 Share Posted March 26, 2007 It's been awhile since I've been their, but if memory servers me right.... No bathing suits, so if you are wearing a top and shorts, just make sure it's not see threw and of course you have to wear shoes.. I don't remember if sandals are ok or not? I would think so..?
