fatcat04 Posted April 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2007 Okay... so mom and dad are gonna be on the Oosterdam on 5/12 Alaska cruise for their 50th anniversary. 50 years.. is that not amazing??!! So I just found on on the HAL website (is that not the best cruise line website??!!) that I can send them all kinds of stuff (wine, flowers, food, casino chips) to their cabin and dining room table everyday. I can even buy mom spa time. Oh, this is gonna be fun!! :D HELP ME SPOIL THEM ROTTEN!! Suggestions?? Anything fun you have seen on one of your cruises? We will not be with them... this is a "just them" romantic cruise.
hammybee Posted April 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2007 Laffinvegas will hopefully have time to chime in, because the Oosterdam is " her ship" and she recently celebrated her 30th, I think, and had a Renewal of Vows Cermony, performed by the ship's captain. As for the best surprise, why not consider joining them, on this cruise. The only 50 I have thus far completed is birthdays but if I am so fortunate to still be here for a 50th anniversary, I would love to have my daughter join us. Must be a popular week for Alaska. So unless they pack us in their luggage... :D but that is okay. If they like this (and I think they will)... maybe we will take a cruise together later this year. Oh so many cruises... so little vacation time!! :D

wizard-of-roz Posted April 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2007 Flowers are always lovely (I love when they're waiting for me in the room, when I first arrive onboard!) Also, they have a package where wine can be sent to the dinner table, with a special message. The spa package is a great idea for both of them....and, how about a really luxorious dinner in the specialty restaurant? You're a wonderful child to do this for your parents, they're very lucky!!!! mamaofami Posted April 6, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2007 You're a wonderful child to do this for your parents, they're very lucky!!!! I second that! I would love it if my kids did this for me on my 50th anniversary. You can also order a cake to be served to them in the dining room. We did that for my birthday in Alaska on the Statendam. Do I need to call HAL abt that or is there a way to do that online?? I think you need to call HAL and tell them what night you would like the cake. I believe I called customer relations and they set it up for me.
