I purchased the Princess transfer from LAX to the pier. Do you guys know if I will get some kind of priority to board the ship or I will be in the line with the rest of the cruisers? Thanks!

Sorry, there is no priority for embarkation with Princess transfers. I wish I could tell you differently! However, you do get priority DISembarkation. They call the Princess transfer people first (on the Grand, we got red luggage tags which was first color off after express disembarkation and post-cruise tours). The irony is that I was hurried off the ship so that I could take a transfer to the Houston airport and then sat around for 8 hours waiting for my flight (yawn).

This March we had a Princess transfer from LAX to the pier. We were picked up at LAX and taken to the Marriot Hotel where we completed all our forms. Us and a group of about 20 from Chicago. Our luggage went ahead by truck and we were then taken straight down to the pier where we were escorted through the fence and straight to our own card distribution desk and then straight onto the ship. ( Island Princess) Total time at pier approx 10 minutes.

So the answer to your question is maybe. You could be as lucky as us.

Have a great cruise.

I just posted a reply but it seems to have gotten lost in space. If this is a duplicate, I apologize.

Anyway, it's not just luck. The pre-cruise package at the LAX Marriott is a great deal. For us last year, it was $69/pp and included the transfers to the pier. Our luggage was picked up right from our hotel room while we were having breakfast and other than identifying it before it was put on our bus, we didn't see it again until it was delivered to our cabin. We arrived at LAX, rented a car, saw family and friends in the area for the day and evening, and arrived at the hotel very late to check in. I was able to just leave the Hertz car in the hotel parking lot and drop the keys into a box in the lobby. It couldn't have been easier or more convenient.

Princess sometimes times when the buses arrive/unload at San Pedro pier.

I stayed at the Marriott hotel through Princess so I had Princess transfers to the ship. Once we got to the ship, we had to sit on the bus for about 15 minutes because they didn't want too many busses unloading at the same time and there were 3 or so busses in front of us.

You just get the bus ride... When dropped off at the terminal you just get in the appropiate line with everyone else. ;)

Our experience is that the Princess transfers from the airport are simply convenient transportation to the boarding area. No boarding priority is inherent to the transfer.

However, our experience also is that Princess transfers from a hotel booked by Princess the night before seem to get us there at a time when boarding is somewhat shortened (e.g. shorter lines). Whether this is planned or not is up for speculation. Seeing as they depart the hotel shortly after breakfast I suspect this is planned.

Of course the Platinum check-in shortens the boarding process just by itself.

Not always true. It depends on when your flight is. We had Princess transfers after the cruise and an early flight and we in the 6th group called.

We had Princess Air and Princess transfers last month and the bus took us to the Marriott Hotel first to check-in for the Diamond cruise and to wait about a hour. A truck offloaded our luggage from the bus to take to the ship. After we registered at the hotel with the Princess reps for the ship we were back on the bus and went straight to some tables inside the San Pedro terminal to get our cabin keys and went as a group straight onto the ship. It was wonderful!
