Mariner- Just back

Recommended Posts

I just want all to know that Mariner of the Seas is a very pretty, clean, and fun ship. We just returned from our cruise & had a wonderful time. It is well worth the money. What a gorgeous ship! Indulge & go! My whole family (ages 7 - 44) loved our cruise. It was the best one yet!

I am glad that you enjoyed the cruise, Mariner of the Seas is a class act with both the ship and the crew as the stars that make it a great experience. Nicely done mini review as well :D

BeachBev,

Any ins and outs you can share would be great. We are true newbies. Cruzin virgins as it were. We are scheduled to head out on Mariner in May and would love to know anything you can share. We only found this board this week. We've been trying to catch up but so much in so little time. We've been making lists and reading and asking questions and studying and our heads are spinning, but we are SO excited.

Thanx,

Erika

Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise on Mariner! I'm sailing her right out of dry dock. Can't wait!

Thanks for the review! Only two more weeks to go & I'll be sailing on her too. Gosh, I can hardly contain myself!!!!! This will be my families second cruise and first time w/ RCI. Tell me BeachBev....how was the food? Did you eat in the dining room most nights?

Based on what I saw, here's a REALLY big tip...

Remember, when trying to get to the Savoy... you can't get there from the aft elevators. I can't tell you the number of times I was at Studio B and people were wandering around lost looking for the Savoy (I guess it's a place where excursions meet). Standard answer (from Studio B)... go up one flight of stairs, and through the casino.

Having sailed on the Mariner 3 times, we felt at home the minute we stepped onboard. It was a good feeling!

The food is terrific and YES I ate in the dining room each night. My favorite spot for a drink for Boleros Bar & the wine bar. Try to hit the wine tasting party. FUN!

My kids loved this cruise! There is tons of activity on the sports deck. Be sure to take socks for roller blading, wall climbing & ice skating. Try them all & be adventurous. My kids laughed at me and had a ball taking photos of me, too.

TIP- the pool and hot tubs are great before dinner (late afternoon). You can have the whole deck almost to yourselves! We went daily from 4 until we had to get ready for dinner about 6:30 or 7. It is relaxing after ports too. This is a super time to enjoy the water on board, meet the bartenders (who are true characters) and relax.

I wrote more under each port we visited. See Jamaica, G.Cayman, and Cozumel

Are they still doing the asst cruise driector contest? that seemed to be the only thing I've read about that people didn't like.
