SailAwayWendy Posted May 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2007 I loved the lady with which we booked our cruise direct with RCI. Later, when I called back with a few questions I was told that they were not allowed to transfer my call to her that the "next available rep" was to handle my questions. Anyone heard of this and if so, why do you think I can't talk to the original lady I booked with ?? I should edit this to say that I was told that they could not transfer to ANY RCI phone extensions. marci22 Posted May 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2007 I have spoken with several reps and sometimes they say 'here is my extension to reach me if you have questions' and sometimes they say 'just call back and anyone can help you'. I wonder if it makes a difference if you use a C & A rep or not.
cruizingdeb Posted May 20, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2007 After talking with a rep, I request an e-mail with the information discussed (i.e., quote or booking confirmation). The rep's information is listed at the bottom of the e-mail and includes their business e-mail address. Whenever I need to contact this rep, I send them an e-mail that includes my phone number asking to them to call me. The few times I have done this, they have called me back promptly. DHADEN Posted May 20, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2007 Did you get the lady's name when you talked to her?? If not you're out of luck.... I'll give you my RCI Cruise Specialist - He is FANTASTIC and follows through 100 % all the time; also has saved us many many many hundreds of $$$ !! Peter @ 1-800-859-7225 ext.30715 (tell him "Mr. Darrell" sent you to him;)) After talking with a rep, I request an e-mail with the information discussed (i.e., quote or booking confirmation). The rep's information is listed at the bottom of the e-mail and includes their business e-mail address. Whenever I need to contact this rep, I send them an e-mail that includes my phone number asking to them to call me. The few times I have done this, they have called me back promptly. This is also good advice - if you got this from her, then call C&A or RCI and ask for her extension; then call the number above that I gave you and use her extension instead of Peter's. Hope This Helps.

SailAwayWendy Posted May 21, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Thanks everyone for your advice and taking the time to respond, I do appreciate it. I will email next time if I need to talk to her since I have her name, email and RCI extension #.
Queen of Hearts Posted May 24, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Extensions do not always work as it's a call center and person you are trying to get ahold of may be on a call. Emails are always good, cuz then they can get back to you when they get a chance to.
petel Posted May 25, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 25, 2007 Thanks to everyone here who has added such good information about calling/emailing RCI. I've been keeping a list of who I've spoken to and what each of them told about themselves. Sometimes when I get someone I have spoken to before we reconnect and pick up from where we left off. Whether I've spoken to a "new" person or someone from a previous call I've always had quality service. I may start asking for an email when appropriate and collect some extension numbers. It's so nice to work with such a great group of people. :)
cb at sea Posted May 25, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2007 If it's general info you want, any of the reps can help. If you're in the process of booking stuff, then it's best to stick with one person.
