LIVE from the Monarch....a cruise in progress

Recommended Posts

The news is that Danney and the HD would love to do this again next year if we want to put together the second annual.

The captain (who still has his job) does not care as he won't be on the Monarch.

LMBO!

When I mentioned your cruise to Danney while on the Monarch last December, he remembered both of you :D He had a huge smile on his face ;)

I wish I could join you :p

I've done a couple of B2Bs on the Monarch. You get to sleep in and wave at the people leaving the ship to go back to their lives. Then you get escorted through customs and back to the terminal for check-in (again). Personally, I usually head into Long Beach for the day. We did the Haunted Tour on the Queen Mary, last year, which was very cool. This year we were dropped off on the main street in Belmont Shores (just south of Long Beach) and hit all the cute shops (and I got my nails done for a MUCH MORE reasonable price than if I'd had them done on the ship). ~ LL

Wow we HAVE to get off?!?!? I was hoping to sleep in and ignore the announcements. I guess a late escort off and on will be fine. Do you have to wait to board with all the new guests  or do you get another personal escort back on board?

I've always wanted to visit Ports of Call nearby (via the street car). Thanks for the idea of Queen Mary. I may consider that also. My nails are fine. ;) Is it easy to get to Long Beach from the port or will I need a car? I've rented from Enterprise nearby before and I know there are some cool tide pools nearby in San Pedro.

LOL. Yes you have to get off. A B2B is actually 2 seperate cruises.
