Hey Carol, I just watched the Cruise in Review DVD. Yes, we are dancing away at the 70's/80's night - close ups of you, me, and Anne. Then there is a shot of Anne and I getting our pictures taken with the Captain. There is a brief shot of Jean and John dancing at the Captain's gala.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but it might be wise to use more discretion when posting about things (such as the bridge sailaway) that are technically against the rules. It's fun to share, but I guess my concern would be that the captain or other folks could end up being disciplined. I could be wrong, but I've heard of this happening before. I'd just hate to see RCI crack down on things.

Sand DIego was fun - we went shopping. Celia is a native and acted as our Sherpa. Lorna and I just followed behind. Not quite accurate - Lorna knows SD well, too. I trailed along.

 

Rick hosted a sailaway party in the Royal Suite this afternoon. The RS' balcony is a front row seat to the bridge, and Captain Teo guided us out of San Diego while we watched. Later in the party, I had my picture taken with him twice, while he assured me that he remembered me from my big wave and thanks from the balcony.

 

Casino slots were loose last night, tight tonight.

 

Excellent flan in the WJ at lunchtime today.

 

Mr. Sexy Legs contest was breath-taking, and absolutely hilarious. No one in our group participated, but it was still fun to watch. :)

 

Let's see..........dirtgirl (other Carol) dropped her purse in the toilet, and lost the strap to her formal gown.

 

I keep hitting the off button on my new digital camera instead of the shutter, missing out on some amazing blackmail opportunities.

 

Well, time for Dueling Pianos, and you all know what that means.

I think Rubrick should really be MUCH MORE discreet. This is how people end up in trouble, and more more rules get put in place. I think someones ego is a little out of control. Im happy for anyone who gets some special treatment, but it really does not need to be publicly broadcasted.

I loved the pics! Ismael was the best when we were on the week of May 14. And yes, looking into his eyes, you can tell he would rather jump overboard.

 

I agree though that a Radiance class ship would be so nice for us west coasters. My son's GF actually asked me if the Voyager's cabins were the same size. We're going in April and I'm sure she's thinking - SMALL!

 

I'm glad you guys had a great time and the ship is still sailing!!! :)

Carol, don't let it bother you. I think that "most" of us are smart enough to know that an officer that cares about his/her job would not place themselves in jeopardy by doing something against company policy. Glad that you had a great cruise. Of course you always do!!!!!:) By the way, nice pics!!!!!

Great, last post disappeared into cyberspace - let's try to reconstruct it.

Then we walked around Avalon some more. Bill went into Von's and purchased his beloved Diet Pepsi. He was very happy. ;) :)

First time on RCI and when I saw the Diet Pepsi note I became overjoyed but wait....can we bring soda and water on board in "plain view"? Thanks for the review, what fun you had! I would have sang along with my off- key voice :D

Linda, Bill has been known to "smuggle" DP on RCI cruises, with regularity ... but always in plain view. He usually only brings on a 6 pack. This time, it was in a plastic Von's shopping bag and went through the x-ray machine, with all the rest of our belongings. He's never been stopped or had it confiscated. YMMV, but as long as you are being overt and understand that it may be confiscated, it's worth trying.

 

Have a great cruise! I think you'll really love RCI ... even if you have to drink Coca Cola products. ;) ~ L

Yippee!!! I am thrilled!! It is worth the try for a 6 pack of Diet Pepsi and the DH can carry my 6 pack of Fiji water! Ahhh:) RCI need not worry I will make up for the dollars with bottles of wine at dinner and martinis! :D

Patrick....you and your buddy crbonfibre have been known to correct me in the past.............but this time............I did nothing wrong!

Sorry guys...........but first, it is up to the captain to allow or deny anything that happens on his (her) ship............including who may be allowed on the bridge or when. This has nothing to do with corporate.

 

This was not something that I requested.....but something that the captain allowed the group of CC'ers to do. I was surprised, as it is normally not allowed........and simply stated it. I also asked the captain if it was alright to talk about it on CC............he said yes.

 

I guess that I should have said nothing and just let everyone look at Carols pictures. Pictures are...........after all.......worth a thousand words.

 

I don't think that my ego stands half way up to you guys!!

Oh duh, I just re-read your post and see that you are scheduled to be on the Monarch in July. You'll find that the Monarch is a bit less formal than other RCI ships. So, you may have more problems bringing on "outside non-alcoholic beverages" on other ships.
