Daily Activities

I was thinking about this on the Jewel of the Seas over New Years and am now thinking about it again being that I am sailing in 19 days (!!). Do any of you frequent cruisers get tired of having the same activity choices over and over on every cruise? To me, the belly flop contest, sexy legs contest, and ice carving demonstration are now old after seeing them 3 and 4 times each. Does Royal Caribbean ever spice up their different activities or have they been the same ever since they started?

They've been the same since we started cruising! If I'm around, I'll watch, but I sure don't make some special effort to be there! It does get old! We pretty much do our own thing--not much of a "group activity" person! (Does not play well with others!!)

There are usually other activities going on at the same time, so if some of them have become old hat, there are others to choose from. On rare occasions they even introduce some new ones or add a twist to the old ones. Don't forget that you can always spend some that time enjoying your balcony, the solarium, casino, shops, bars or other locations on the ship. Nowhere is it written that you have to attend every activity. You are totally free to do as little or as much as you want.:)

Ah, poor Joe - the downside of the adolescent attention span and memory function!

We all don't mind that the same things happen on most cruises. First of all, what bores YOU, seems strangely familiar and comforting to us. :)

What seems repetitive to YOU, seems fresh and new to us, because we all suffer from CRS!!!!!

There are things that are going on at the same time. On our recent cruise, we passed up the love and marriage game show having seen it three previously times and instead went to another game show called liar's club. (very funny) That was the first time we had seen that. Also, during the sexy leg competition this year, in the casino they held a slot tournament and we chose to do that this yead instead. I'm sure if you look, you will find somethings that you have done done/seen before!

Alot of the time the people participating in the activity are what makes it fun/not fun. I've been to the love & marriage show probably close to 10 times and although most of the questions remain the same it's the answers that make it hilarious....same with Quest. If we enjoy something we'll generally go. We do tire of the same production shows and don't mind missing/skipping those.
