Host CMLA Posted June 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2007 Hi guys. I've been looking at roll calls and using the search feature but apparently I'm challenged because I don't see what I'm looking for. :) I'm trying to find out what Princess ship departs from London on 7/25 and returns 8/10 with stops in Scotland and Ireland. Does anyone know? Thanks for any help.
Druke I Posted June 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 6, 2007 Are you sure it is a Princess trip? Closest I can find in brochure is Grand Princess, departing 7-28-07, returning 8-9-07.
Toto2Kansas Posted June 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 6, 2007 I checked the Princess website and can't find any Princess ship that will be in Southampton on July 25th????????????????????????????????????????

You know, I could be wrong on the embarkation day. 7/25 may be the day leaving the US with a pre cruise stay. One of my girlfriends said she was looking into this cruise but couldn't remember the ship name. I say, if she can't remember the ship name, should she really be allowed to travel outside the US. LOL I'm kidding. Anyway, if the only one close is 7/28, that must be it. Thank you so much!
Toto2Kansas Posted June 6, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2007 RCI has a ship sailing on the 24th of July from Harwich (London), England The Grand Princess sails on July 28th from Southampton. Maybe if she is flying over she would leave on the 25th and arrive on the 26th for two nights pre-cruise?

Host CMLA Posted June 7, 2007 Author #14 Share Posted June 7, 2007 How do I become a host on cruise critic? They were looking for a host for the NCL board. I was an active member. The host at the time recommended me and the board admin contacted me and asked if I was interested. That was 4 years ago. All the hosts are volunteers. You could probably contact the board administrator and let her know you're interested. It's fun being so involved in the board. You have to love it though. You can't be the kind of person that only becomes active when you have a cruise planned. You have to come to the board over and over and over again for years! :)
spongerob Posted June 7, 2007 #15 Share Posted June 7, 2007 Cecilia, it sounds like your friend is on the same cruise I am. The cruise dates are July 28 - Aug 9. We have quite an active roll call thread if your friend is interested. We went on this cruise two summers ago and felt that there was so much we couldn't do in that trip that we had to go back again. It really is a fantastic itinerary.
Nymue Posted June 7, 2007 #16 Share Posted June 7, 2007 Same here Rob....we went last year & we've book again for next year. Sadly I keep missing the Orkneys,I would love to visit Skara Brea. bubbadog Posted June 7, 2007 #17 Share Posted June 7, 2007 we did the british isles cruise 2 years ago and it was fabulous, and we want to do it again, this is a great cruise, but its only offered like 2 times a year,so it is very limited,i would think there is enough demand to do it more often, but o well, have a great time, its really great cruise:))):p ;)
can786 Posted June 7, 2007 #18 Share Posted June 7, 2007 Bubbadog, they must have read your mind because they are offering this cruise 4 times next year. June 7th (we are booked), July 1st, July 25th, and August 18th.

I'm the one who posted it and didn't even notice that. I simply did a copy and paste from the Princess website. I didn't know the Beatles were Scots. ;)

Orkney is fantastic, like no place I've ever been before. I hope we get to visit again; my wife missed out on our tour to Skara Brae and the other neolithic sites last time. Google is my friend... ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scouse I also found a reference to the "Socialist Republic of Scouseland", and while meant as humor, some may take offense, so I won't post the link. As an old college professor of mine used to say, "I'll leave that as an exercise"....

It really is a fantastic itinerary. It sounds like a good itinerary. I did a Baltic cruise a few years ago but haven't cruised Europe since. I think it's easy to get caught up in the cruise line you use most and then not check out other lines with other itineraries. Princess has a lot going on. I'm going to send my friend, Susie, a link to the roll call and this board. She and her guy are in their 60's with lots of life in them; very social. I hope they have the chance to meet up with you.
