Monarch back-to-back cruise review

Recommended Posts

Hi....we are sailing on the Monarch in 2 weeks. We have sailed the 4 night a few times, but never the 3 night.....sooooo.....you did not mention if there is a formal night on the 3 night. Also, when was Danney coming back from vacation :( ?

Thanks for your great review!

Yes there is a formal night on Saturday (the second day of the 3-day cruise) as well :)

MissKise, try this. If it doesn't work, maybe you don't have the right Adobe Reader version. It opens fine with version 7.0.

Formal night on the Monarch is very nice - the Captain has a Welcome Aboard party with cocktails & hors d'ouevres, music for dancing and then an introduction of the senior staff. I don't know when Captain Teo goes on his leave, but if you have him, he's quite the standup comedian!

You can even order drinks that aren't on the trays. Especially if you get Desmond as your bar waiter :)

Tahoestarr: I am happy to tell you that a chocolate martini bears no resemblance to a martini!

Here's a secret: Even better than a chocolate martini is a CHOCOLATE MINT martini.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :D

OK, I will confess that I didn't really like the chocolate martini. As an alcoholic milkshake, it was awesome. But I like the way Princess does it ( ) - they drizzle the glass with chocolate & then pour a real martini into it, so it just has an essence of chocolate. Mind you, I had no problem sucking down one of the RCI concoctions, but it wasn't quite what I had in mind...
