Hey there. Thinking of going on Constellation next august for the northern europe cruise. Just wondering if anyone could offer a little insight before i book as to whether Celebrity, in particular this ship is any good for people around my age (18).

I have previously travelled with Royal Caribbean and Princess and have found that despite being too young to drink with American Laws onboard, there was still plenty to do with Movies Under the Stars (princess) and a nightclub that was open to those over 18.

From what i can see on the site, it appears to be geared more towards the 25+ market.

Have a bit of good news for you. Even though Celebrity changed their drinking age to 21 last year, there is an exception for sailings leaving from ports with a drinking age under 21. Below is a link to the guest conduct policy, go to the alchohol portion and they will explain about the waiver.

Also, Celebrity has never changed the gambling age to 21 so that remains at 18.

You are not able to sail without a parent or guardian if you're you're not 21 years of age on most cruise lines, with the exception of Disney and Cunard. For some lines, you need to have someone age 21 or older in your cabin and on other lines, you must have someone age 25 or older. Princess used to allow 18 year olds to cruise alone, but as of July, even they have changed their rule to age 21 or older to cruise alone. And yes, Celebrity is more sedate in terms of their cruises. They do tend to attract a more mature cruiser than lines such as RCCI or Carnival.

Kitty is absolutely correct, I didn't even think of that, just assumed you would be traveling with your parents.

Oh yeah, my apologies, should have mentioned i will be travelling with my family. I'll also be sharing a cabin with my older sister who will be 21 by the time we cruise.

Thats good news about the drinking age. I never really mind much about not being able to drink onboard, but actually being allowed to for once will be a nice change!

We sailed this itinerary with our sons, 19 and 22, this past June. On our sailing there were not many young adults in their ages and they still had a fantastic time. Lots of wonderful, fascinating places to see on port days and a few new buddies to hang out with at night. On sea days there was enough to do to keep them happy. Some days it was nice enough to visit out by the pool, listen to music and read. On cooler sea days the casino saw a lot of them.

Hope this helps and, if you have any specific questions that I can't answer I'll check with my sons.
