rc51001 Posted August 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2007 We're cruising to Alaska in May 08, is there a reasonable transportation service to the cruise terminal from the vancouver airport and returning after the cruise? We also have to stay in a motel the night we arrive. Any advice on where to stay
notentirelynormal Posted August 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2007 There is a limo service located right at the airport http://www.limojetgold.com I've used them before with no problems. Its $53 CDN + GST each way from the airport to the pier for a limo - max 4 passengers. $39 if you just want a sedan.
Bill S Posted August 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2007 We've used the limo service 3x without having any advance reservations, IMO, the cost is reasonable and the convenience is great. It is an excellent way to commence a cruise experience. With respect to hotels, there are many from which to choose. You will get lots of recommendations, but if you haven't already done so, consider looking for a hotel on www.tripadvisor.com We have stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront twice and at the Pan Pacific once-both great hotels right at Canada Place, one of the cruise ship piers in Vancouver. I know that HAL and Celebrity use Canada Place, but I'm not sure what other lines use it. Again, others will chime in with good information and suggestions! Have a great cruise! Kamloops50 Posted August 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2007 Website for Vancouver Airport http://yvr.ca Website for Airport Shuttle. http://www.yvrairporter.com/ The shuttle runs every 20 minutes to downtown for about $13.50 CDN/Per Google Vanvcouver Tourisim for info on hotels in the Vancouver Area. Rates are normally lower in May then July or Aug. :)

TeaBag Posted August 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2007 You might like to look at this link which will help you plan your time in Vancouver. http://www.seevancouverbc.com/
Happy ks Posted August 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2007 When we arrived, we walked out of the terminal and caught a limo right outside the door, no reservations needed. It was a bit higher than a taxi, but there were 5 of us, we would have had to have gotten 2 taxis. The last time we stayed overnight in Vancouver, we Pricelined a room. Choose the downtown area, not the airport area. Almost any hotel in the downtown area will be less than a $10 ride to the port in the morning.
