Question about umbrellas ....

Hi, this is my first cruise with HAL, and I need a quick answer [ I am sailing in two days ! ] to a simple question. Do HAL supply an umbrella in all cabins. ? I booked only a month ago so all that was left was inside or Penthouse. You can guess where I am . :D Celebrity supply all cabins with one, but I need to know about Hal. We are sailing from Harwich, and the weather here is dreadful. It is in your genes if you are a Brit. to not go far away from a brolly . :rolleyes:

Actually, WW, I don't know a lot - so when a question comes up that I CAN answer, I jump right in. Makes me feel like I'm not quite so slow. :D

I never travel with umbrellas. I prefer a hat--it frees up your hands and you won't be poking people in the face.

 

In Alaska I relied on my windbreaker with hood. When I travel to cities I take a raincoat (microfiber easy to pack) and a rain hat that folds up and goes in my pocket.

On rainy days they have umbrellas at the exit to the gangway for all to use. The penthouse and deluxe verandahs do have one "golf type" umbrella in each cabin.

Maybe sometimes, but I've never had the pleasure. Best to bring your own and be sure.

I cruised to Alaska on the Amsterdam and my cabin had 2 umbrellas. I had an outside cabin. I can't speak for the inside cabins because I didn't know anyone in them. I had taken one of the folding umbrellas because I didn't know they had them on board.

Umbrellas these days are so small, I'd throw a couple in your luggage just to be sure.

Thank you all for the imformstion. I will take a small one I think. I am working on the theory that if I take it the sun will continue to shine in Europe, but if I don't take it .....I think you can guess !

We were on the Amsterdam recently, inside cabin, and we also had 2 umbrellas. They were like bubble umbrellas, where they come down and shield your face from the rain. I did bring my own umbrella, just in case there were none available on the ship.......a small sized one that could fit in my handbag.

We were on the Amsterdam recently also in May and there were two umbrellas in our inside cabin. We had brought our own and did not use them, but they were there if needed.

We always take some small Totes on our trips since we can carry them in a pocket or my wife's purse. Totes are not just good for rain, but they can be very useful for beating gypsies that try to pick your pockets :)

We always take my tote size umbrella. It's light and fits in my bag. You never know in the Caribbean when you might need it.
