HaloV Posted September 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Does anyone know if Mercury has a heliport? Or how I can find out. Thanks, H
C 2 C Posted September 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Nope. Only M-Class ships which are 23,000 tons larger have a dedicated landing area up front.

HaloV Posted September 4, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted September 4, 2007 Thanks C2C:) . My husband is going fly fishing in Christchurch in NZ & is going to be picked up by helicopter & the guide asked if the ship had a heliport.
cruisin'mama Posted September 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2007 On our cruise to Alaska last summer, we had an emergency evacuation and the helicopter had to hover and lower the paramedics and basket down then raise everyone back up. Interesting to watch, but felt bad for the passenger.
dkjretired Posted September 5, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I believe the heliports on the bigger ships are only used for emergencies, not for excursions....
