Hilton Hotel beach?

I asked at Front Desk:

about any day pass arrangement Barbados Hilton might offer for cruise-ship passengers.

Once the hotel is not too full, yes they'll accommodate you for the day,

but they suggest you phone ahead first (Tel.number 426-0200) from the Port,

to see if they're up to it on that day you're in port.

IF they can accommodate you,

the day pass is Bds$25.00 (= U.S.$ 25.00) per person

(kids under 12 are half that)

- which entitles you to beach access, chairs, umbrellas, showers

but is not refundable at the bar or restaurant.

Hilton's beach is on the South Coast side of Needham's Point,

so the possibility exists that sea conditions may not be as calm as you might like..

In the event the sea is too choppy/surfy for you, that day

there are several attractive pools right there beachside

so you shouldn't suffer too badly!

While there, I took a few pics for you.

Hope you like them

I have been to the Hilton and loved it. The price was around 40/day.

The grounds are beautiful and lunch was included.

I'm not sure which beach, however I can tell you it is about a 20$ cab ride.

I was just there last week. It's $35.00USD per person if you want lunch and a drink included ($25.00USD per person if you don't want lunch). The cab ride can be had for about $5.00 one way per person, provided you walk out of the port area and hail a cab - they've got a racket going on there and will charge you much more than that if you get the cab inside the port grounds, not to mention they'll hustle you into a 15 passenger van and make you wait for 10 minutes while they try to fill it before leaving.

Wow - I just got an e-mail from them the other day and they quoted $50.00 per person, $70 pp with lunch and a drink (you get a lounge chair and umbrella and use of pool etc.) I don't even care about the pool part. I want the beach. Maybe I shouldn't have asked for a day pass.

That quote will be in Barbados Dollars which equates to around $35 US.

That includes Lunch with a beer or Rum Punch ,towels, beach chairs etc.

Its a lovely hotel.

Aplmac- Where are all your lovely pictures of beautiful Barbados? Are they being moved to another location I'm not aware of?

You mentioned Coconut grove with pictures a couple years back. Do you think your friends would let me use there facilities? I did Accra and loved it and I know this other place is just down a little from there.
