What's your bar bill for a 7 day cruise??

Ours was 1896.86 10 yrs ago on the Holiday out of San Pedro LA. Was our first cruise. I thought the card was for free drinks so I gave it to the bar tenders and the waitress's for all my friends at the Pool and the Disco's I sured a lesson there. My cruise cost was like $299 back then. I will never forget getting called to the Pursers Office that dreaded day on Mon. am on the debarkation.

I looked back on the old S&S bill from the last and took out the tips, photos, supper club, and gift shop. It turned out to be just under $700 for 4 adults on a 7 day cruise. It shocks me to think it was only $25 per person per day.

Bar bill on our 7 day last December was a huge 0$ But our coffee bill at the specialty shop was probably around 100$. I went from one addiction to another MMMMMM COFFEE!!!!!!

On the Pride in February our total S&S bill was about $2500, but that included an $1100 bottle of King Louis XIII cognac my DH bought on board! We had a great time!

 

As my DW said our S&S was about $2500, but she failed to mention the 7 bottles of wine we brought. Then there were the 3 liters of Alcohol we pre-ordered from Carnival.:D Can't wait till next time!

Our first 7 day is 1/08 but on our last 5 day it was 1700 and change. Of that about 200 casino thou. So averages out to about 300 a day.

Just saw this on a different forum and was surprised how low people's bills were. Mine is usually around $900 for the two of us. As we like to drink on vacation. (a lot)

Our's is usually 00.00 Both DH and I teetotalers! Saves lots of money and we remember all the fun we have on our cruises and excursions! ;)

Ours is usually under $20 for bar drinks. I will have a few on a 7 night, DH doesn't drink. Now the coffee bar that's another story...I'm with HVAC...I love espresso and iced coffee. :)

I've only ever done 1 7-day before (the Empress in '03) and have no idea what I spent.

 

I usually have a beer during the day, and I now get a bottle of wine with dinner the first night and work my way through that (and another bottle or two), and have a glass in the casino after dinner, and maybe another one if I go to a show or to Karaoke........

 

Daughter is now 21! :eek: So I have a strange feeling this cruise is going to be a teeny, tiny bit more expensive.

 

Not only do we both drink, but we both love the specialty coffee. My trick ever since my first cruise?

 

I go to the lido deck cafe, fill up a tall cold drink glass with frozen yogurt, and then fill that up with decaf.

 

Yummmm. And it costs nothing extra! Of course, a shot of Kalua in there would make it oh so delicious!

Last Mar. cruise $358.37 bar bill. Not including the Irish Whiskey we brought onboard 2 bottles and the comp. champagne in our suite. We're already ahead of the game for this Oct. Halloween cruise as we have a bar set-up--- guess what $60.00 for 1 bottle Jameson Irish Whiskey.:eek: I think our bar set-up is already $300.00. Alot in room drinking will be going on.:D But hey like ya say it's vacation.

The DW and I usually use $100 per day as a rule of thumb, $500 for a 5 day, $700 for a 7 day, which includes the bar, a few goodies from the gift shop and lots of cokes for her.

I travel solo and it's usually somewhere between $700-$900 for the week... a lot of that can be attributed to rounds of tequila shots :rolleyes:

 

I'd like to cruise with you but I'll have to leave my Liver at home.

 

Best I ever did was a 3 day with a buddy. My bar bill alone was $357.00, his was a little over $400. Plus we were off the ship in Nassau from about 8:30AM until just before sailing and visited about 25 bars in and around Nassautown. No clue to how much we spent on shore, but it was a LOAD. We had a friend that lived there and knew and was known at every bar on the island. Not at all sure how we got back aboard.

 

But I've done a $30 to $40 bar bill on a 7 day, Ya never know.

I'm flabbergasted!!!! I can't imagine spending more on a bar bill than the cruise itself costs. Don't get me wrong...I can drink my fair share...but it's tough to spend $5 a beer for me when you can get a 12 pack for close to that...albeit not in the middle of the ocean...I guess when I bought a round of drinks for $27 for my shipmates...I didn't feel too bad!!!

For a 7 day, we've had as low as $80 for bar tab, and the bigget bar tab was $200.............

We were just on the Triumph eastern, when we stopped in San Juan, there were free Rum drinks on the dock--free=good. Then later, at the past guest party, several free drinks again, good again!!

 

The best was the blue union suited crew member snarfing the free drinks on the dock.

i think our bar bill for our last cruise, which was 14 days was zero. Now, I did have a couple specialty coffees, but bar..... nada.

For a 7 day we do around $400-$700 per person on drinks, depending on how crazy the week gets.

wow I must be bad because my first cruise was a 4 day and I got my bill for $585 just for me! It was a girls only cruise and I left 3 kids and hubby home so it was all good..........I dont think Ive had more than 5 drinks total since I got home! Going longer next time, will not be surprised to see my bill since it will be another girls trip!!!:D

We usually buy a few specialty drinks the first day and maybe, maybe one or two more the rest of the cruise. We smuggle our own soft drinks and alcohol on the ship which saves a lot of money.

About 15 bucks- I have a beer now and then while on board. However, I drink a lot less while cruising than I do in "real life"- pretty weird, I guess...

2 soda cards + tip= $93.94. The rest of the week totalled $125 for 2 of us for drinks. No smuggled items, not worth the hassle for me, LOL.

My last cruise I was sailing Solo My bar bill was over $700.00. I bought a few drinks for others. Plus bought 6 bottles of wine for my 8 dining companions for our farewell dinner. I am sure that was a good portion of the whole bill. Anyway with me being the only male @ the table. I wanted to treat the Ladies for being so gracious and such a fun group! We had a great time, not only @ dinner but throughout the whole cruise.

 

 

And people wonder why we all like cruising so much?
