All Things Miracle!!!!

Thanks for the link, Fred. I've never eaten dinner at the buffet on any ship. I can say that our dinners in the dining room on Miracle were some of the worst, especially some of the beef dishes. Steaks were tough and overcooked. Of course, my fav was Beef Wellington, which was delicious, but has been removed from Carnival's menus. :(

But the crew was genuinely friendly. They were smiling and always saying Good Morning and seemed to do so because they wanted to, not because they had been told it was part of their job!

enjoyinglife: I take the Ginger Root capsules (got them at WalMart, I think). I start a day or two before the cruise and take one am and one pm. If the seas are really rough, I also take a meclizine only at night.

If you've never had motion sickness problems, most people don't have a problem at sea, either, unless it is really, really bad (like in a tropical storm).

But the ginger root does no harm, so why not? There is a "burp factor" though, so eat something and drink plenty of water. :o

It's an emergency dry dock to fix the propulsion problems.

We are the last sailing right before dry dock. Our roll call is keeping our fingers crossed that A-we still sail and B-service does not suffer due to the dry dock right after we get off.

Hope you have no problems with your cruise (I'll keep my fingers crossed for you all too). I think we are the first cruise after dry dock, so I'm hoping they have time to fix the problem(s). It's our 25th anniversary; I chose this one because: it's our first Spirit Class, it's our first aft wrap, and it's going 2 places we haven't been. So, we're really hoping it's fixed. Hope you all have a great cruise!

Thanks. We have never gotten sick, but I am wondering if the Miracle wil rock more since it is having problems. When you read articules about natural products to take to help certain ailments, ginger can help so many, I figured

A. it wont hurt to take it in case we need it for motion sick

B. it may help other things wrong with my body! :D

To bad it doesnt help to rid the body of all the extra calories we put in it on a cruise! ;)

I take ginger twice a day and meclizine once or twice a day (depending on the seas). I have never gotten the "burp" factor with the ginger root. I buy mine at GNC. They actually help with digestion so they're a great idea to take when you are eating a different diet than you are used to, especially with desserts and alcohol.

We leave in one month Yeah! I'd like feedback about setting up the meet and greet. For my past cruises, there has always been someone who wanted to come but wasnt able to make it for some reason. Some people advise two different ones for that reason.

What I'd like is to get feedback for the past Miracle's meet and greets.Where and when on the first day and how has it worked out,

and where and when on the second day.

It would be nice to be outside as we have so many that are form the north and escaping winter snow and weather, but I would like a place that offers some shade and some sun.

Comments anyone!

I found maybe on this thread an email address to email carnival about getting a room. I did that last night. Has anyone tried this and can you share your story.

Thanks, I cant wait to get on her AND to hear your relies.

We had our meet and greet at the Orpheous Bar which is on the Lido deck aft. It is outside, has a pool and is covered for about 1/3.

Also one meet and greet is never enough. Have one scheduled for each sea day so everyone can share and check up.

We had cabin 6232, and the balcony was to die for. Spent a lot of time out there.

Hi...quick question for you or for anyone out there who has had this cabin...what is the white space on the deck plans next to this cabin? I wanted to see if I could get it, but was afraid of this space being work areas (loud??) thanks

Any other suggestions? Maybe about the time on the first day and subsequent days.

Hi folks,

I don't usually start threads unless I'm asking questions. :p Some of you know that I have asked A LOT of questions in the past....LOL!!! Mr. Pete do you hear me? hahahahah :D:D Anyway, I thought it would be fun to start a thread about the Miracle. There are others about the Destiny and the Triumph and other ships in the Carnival fleet.

I absolutely fell in love with the Miracle. Maybe because it was my first "long" cruise? I don't know, but that ship and the crew really left a special place in my heart. The service was outstanding. The food was great. My husband and I had such a wonderful time. I have been on several vacations to the Caribbean, Europe, many states in the US, Mexico, Canada and in my opinion this cruise was the best vacation I have ever taken.

Anyone else want to talk about the wonderful Miracle? Craig (Chitowncruiserss), Ann (Mprucha) and others? I know you are out there. :D Any future Miracle cruisers we would love to hear from you also.

Hi, first time on this site...I will be cruising on the Miracle with my husband and three kids 14, 12, 10 on July 27 to the Eastern Carribean. My hubby and I will have a balcony room and the kids will be across the hall in their own room. Excited but don't know what to expect. It is our first cruise ever!!

Can you give a link to the review? I never get tired of reading reviews of ships I've sailed and plan on sailing.

As the the barf bags, they had them out on Fascination a couple of weeks ago (and there was "evidence" in one of the ladies' room that someone hadn't made it in time. ewwww). I think we only had 9-10' seas but it was very, very choppy. Thankfully, I seem to be cured now that I take ginger (started before Miracle cruise last December; have used it for 3 cruises now (2 with some rough seas) with excellent results). I highly recommend it.

cruising on the Miracle 7/09 to Eastern Caribbean...my daughter gets nautious..what do you recommend? she is 12

I just found this post and was glad to hear there are other Miracle lovers. What's not to love about any cruise? I just booked our 2nd Miracle cruise. This will be our 9th cruise and I usually try to book a ship I haven't tried and visit a port we haven't been to. This time the itinerary won out because we'll be seeing Panama and Costa Rica. My hubby can't wait to go to Belize again so he can scuba dive. We had no trouble deciding on this 8 day cruise because we enjoyed the Miracle so much 3 years ago on our family cruise. I won't have my siblings and son with me on this cruise, but I'm really looking forward to being on the Miracle again. I hope we won't be disappointed because our expectations are so high. What I'm looking forward to: the reuben sandwiches in the lido deli, the sushi bar, the coffee bar, the Bacchus dining room (yes I liked the crazy ceiling), Frankie and Johnny's lounge (hope they have live music). The down side of taking a repeat cruise is that the shows will be the same - not to worry - we'll be in the lounges or the casino!

Hi! My hubby and three kids 13, 12 and 10 are going on the Miracle in 7/09 to the Eastern Carribean for 8 days. It is our FIRST cruise ever! Will we love it? My hubby and I will have a balcony room and our kids will be across the hall. Will the kids have a good time? Any advice about what to pack, wear, excursions, helpful hints, etc? Write to me at Babbles1960@aol.com

  • 4 weeks later...

Have you gone to the Ports of Call boards and done some reading? I just finished booking SIX independent excursions for my all-ports Victory cruise in May, so I can't even begin to think about what to do on Miracle in December! That's going to have to wait until I get back from San Juan.

At least on Miracle, there are only three ports! Makes the planning much easier (I hope).

I booked cabin 4145 on an upcoming cruise. I hear it has "French Doors".

Is anyone familiar with that cabin, or French Doors?

My brother and sister-in law went with us on the Miracle in Dec. They had one of these rooms on your deck with french doors. They liked it very much. they open up so you can stick your head outside the ship.

I will be cruising with a group in November and can't wait to find out our room number. My roommate is a first timer (not to say I'm not anxious) and would like to get the heads up when to look on the site for our number, reads TBA now. I, oh, she can't wait. LOL

Hello Sandi, I am traveling south on the Miracle for the 3rd time. I was wondering if you or anyone remembers if the cabin Door is Metal? I have a door decoration and need to know if I should bring tape?

I'm glad to see this thread is back alive and kicking! I learned a lot of great stuff here and hope to help if I can and learn a lot more. A group of us cruised on the Miracle in April 08 and will be back aboard in May 09! Sooo looking forward to it. We had such a great time on this ship and keeping my fingers crossed for a repeat!

Does anyone happen to know when the ship will be going into drydock. I thought I had read in March sometime?

Happy cruising everyone!

PS - I heard the ginger root pills work great too. The pursers desk also will give you motion sickness medication for free if you need it. It worked great for a friend of ours.
