Zip Line Adventure ??

Has anyone done the zipline tour in Barbados. It appears to be new, but I'm not quite sure how new. Is it a challenge course, or just zip lines? What kinds of elements and how many? Any information would be appreciated. Did the zipline adventure in St. Maarten with my son a couple of years back - it's a challenge course - really enjoyed it, and I'm trying to talk my husband into doing one with me.

Thanks!

do you have a link to the zip line adventure in Barbados??

There's very little blurb about

but then the Barbados operation is in its infancy,

having been only just started up, to the best of my knowledge!

Just yesterday someone alerted me as to its location

at Walkes Spring Pltn. (center of the island, pretty much,

on the way to Harrisons Caves and not too far from Earthworks)

and apparently the zipline stretches over Jack-in-the-Box Gully,

from what I can make out!

Haven't actually been there, so don't know much more than that..

but did locate this bit of posted info at..

Aerial Trek Zipline Adventures : September 2007

The ultimate experience is the pairing of Zipline technology

with the beautiful ecosystem created by our island.

The Zipline technology borrows heavily from that used for rock and mountain climbing

and will feature a double line with redundancy to provide a safe environment for users.

Our course built by International Construction and Rigging Company Ltd.

are all built to standards approved by the Association for Challenge Course Technologists.

Your tour takes you over eight platforms,

each with two of our experienced guides who will provide you with information on different areas of the eco-system you are experiencing

as well as ensure your safety as you move from platform to platform.

You will enjoy beautiful views of our island as well as be informed on the geological formations,

which will become apparent.

After your time of fun you will have a short walk on the nature trail back to the base camp

where you will enjoy a refreshing drink, purchase your souvenir photos and branded merchandise

before you board your bus for transportation back to the ship.

Enclosed and comfortable footwear is required for this tour (sneakers).

There's an email link at the bottom of their webpage

for those who want to write and ask about this and that..

Thanks, Aplmac. That's the only info I could find when I googled it, too. I had originally seen the reference on the RCI shore excursions site. Zip lines are popping up on every island, and looking at google, it seem like there's one company that sells them, basically. I really enjoyed the challenge course my son and I did on St. Maarten.
