All things Monarch of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Hi Carol, I'm fairly computer challenged; how do you go about posting one thread with so many different quotes and answers?

sorry to hijack the thread...

Mariana

Mariana, look in the bottom right corner of this post. Do you see three symbols?

The first one (on the left) actually SAYS "quote", with a little quill pen?

Click on that if you want to quote THAT post in your reply.

See the one in the middle? It has big black quotation marks, then a really little plus sign? If you want to quote more than one other post in your reply, hit THAT symbol for the first post you want to quote, then the "quote" button for the second post you want to quote. This will give you the response box, with those two posts in it.

:)

OOPS.

THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU WERE ASKING ME. Apologies.

When you quote someone, their words begin with this:

Their words end with this: [ /quote]

(if I hadn't put that space in, you wouldn't be able to see it)

After I quoted her post, I added all of the extra "close quote" boxes to break up her questions.

Awww you guys are soooooooo sweet :insert group hug:

I'm feeling really good actually. I was only nauseated for two months, then famished and fatigued at the same time for 3 months, and now I'm just learning how to waddle. I feel the little critter move all the time, and am getting kicked regularly after I eat. He likes to take walks in the mid afternoon and always has a disco party happening at night. I dunno what exactly he's doing in there :D

Carol, oh yes, my mom is over the moon. And you should see the CUTE blankets she's crocheting for the baby. Oh they're just darling! Oh and the booties and the hats, oh they're all soooooooooo cute! :)

 I just noticed many coupon booklets for sale on ebay....is it a good idea to buy a booklet or 2 ( I have 3 kids!), are they given away anyhow or do they only go to selected passangers?

Being a thrifty Mom I would think some of the coupons would come in handy with the kids/ and us adults.

They claim they are good to use on any ship/date and by anyone (even the holder is not a Gold or Diamond member. )

Just wondering if I should buy up some of them before we set sail ~! I VALUE Your opinions! Thanks guys!

These coupon books are for members of C&A, Crown & Anchor Society, the repeaters/loyalty club on Royal Caribbean.

For some of them, you have to show your SeaPass. If it doesn't match the coupons, you could be very very very embarrassed.

Is it worth it?

P.S. - while you are on your first cruise, be sure to sign up! You'll be Gold Members for your next cruise! (and get your own coupon books)

Thanks for you speedy reply! If the booklet was cheap I may go for it; and chance the being turned down, but I see some of them sell for $25+ !!!!!!

Whew, that is a lotta dough just to save a few bucks here and there. I doubt we would use it that much to be worthwhile buying.

Thanks again:)

Hi Jenn! Glad to hear MaMa is doing well! Our grandson was born yesterday, so we are very happy grandparents!

For those interested in the San Diego Zoo, I can attest to the fact that it is very doable in one day and you'll have plenty of time to return to the ship.

http://www.sandiegozoo.org/zoo/index.html

I would suggest that you go to the Zoo's website, link above, to purchase your tickets online early, allowing you to pass the folks waiting in long lines to purchase their tickets. It will save you a bunch of time. The Zoo has a wonderful restaurant, "Albert's", but you need to make reservations there if you wish to dine in this restaurant.

Getting to the zoo is easy. It is too difficult to walk there, so catch a cab which are plentiful at the pier. Cabs are also plentiful outside of the Zoo Exit area as well.

Have a great time!

Celia.......congratulations on your latest addition. Ashton.........what a great name. I know that you will be a proud grandmother..........of a boy!!

What does anyone know about a wildlife park somewhere close to San Diego? We hear that it's beautiful, but about an hours drive each way.

Can anyone fill me in on the details??

First off... congrats on the new grandson!! As a grandmother of 3, I know how proud you are! :)

Seeing that you're from San Diego, could you tell me the easiest/best way to get to the cruise terminal from there? We'll actually be staying in Carlsbad and going to the pier from there to board Monarch, April 25. DH thinks there must be a better way than what we keep getting from the map searches we've done. Any help would really be great! You can put it on here, or if it's easier you can send it via email.... rcris57 at yahoo dot com.

Thanks so much!!!

PS... This is our first time on Monarch so I've REALLY enjoyed all the good stuff on here!

Anne and I took that excursion last May. It was a lot of fun, but man my feet were tired. We walked all over the place. There was a tram to take around one exhibit where the lions are. I also went up in a hot air balloon.:) We saw an elephant show, as well.

Rick, sorry, I didn't see your post. Thank you so much for the congrats!

Wild Animal Park:

Wild Animal Park is located in Escondido, CA, approximately a 1 hour car ride from the Port in San Diego. It is operated and run by the San Diego Zoo. It is NOT a drive through animal park and is simply wonderful! I highly recommend it.

Time is of the essence if you plan on visiting from a cruise ship. The reason is mainly due to traffic on the freeways getting to the WAP. If the ship offers a tour, I would highly suggest doing the "ship tour". Again, because of time and freeway conditions that can cause major delays.

We love the WAP! It is well run, they have lots of animal exhibits and shows daily. Their restaurants are okay, although very expensive IMHO! The money you spend there supports the zoo operations, so that is a plus. If you do decide to go on your own, make arrangements to get off the ship very early in the AM and leave the WAP no later than 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM at the latest.

Rick, the next time you come into San Diego, let me know and I'll pick you up and escort you there! LOL!:D

Celia, I'm so happy to hear that the little critter who was sitting on Amy's sciatica is now happy and healthy. I hope mom and baby are doing well.

Things are going great for us. Please give Amy my best :)

Does anyone know what the big blank area across from Room 5048 is? I called RCL but the operator didn't know and sounded like she was guessing when she said "oh that is just the hall closet" Seems too big for a closet so am just trying to figure out what that large space is on deck 5.
