SugarAim2 Posted October 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Hi- What are everyone's thoughts on cruising out of New York in December? What can be expected in terms of rough seas? When does it usually warm up, Day 3 or Day 2? Thanks!
markf Posted October 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2007 By Noon the first full day you will be at the equivalent of Cape Hatteras--you should start feeling warmer each hour from there on--Of course if it is one of those winter days when it is 30 degrees in northern Fla--then you will be out of luck
smeyer418 Posted October 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2007 The Sea is normally pretty active until you pass Cape Hatteras as well.
Budget Queen Posted October 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2007 But coming into NYC a day early or staying later, offers wonderful NYC at Christmas time. Don't miss it. :)
BlueHerons Posted October 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Expect to pay $400 for a moderate hotel in December in Manhattan. Once you get into the Gulf Stream it will warm up considerably.

mdmomof7 Posted October 12, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2007 NYC Hotels - I've found several for mid December for about $250 a night. I arranged an overnight group bus tour for the Radio City Christmas Show & NBC Studios, shopping, etc., for the 17th and 18th. If you need the hotel list, post here and ask for my email or leave yours. This time, we wound up staying in Jersey near the Meadowlands for $99/night, breakfast included, indoor pool. It's a straight shot into Midtown via the Lincoln tunnel. Can't beat that price!
