We are on the Gem out of Barcelona on Dec.3rd and I wonder of the Anniversary package is worth buying at $79.... as the pound is so strong at the moment, it looks a good deal.....anyone done it on any other NCL ship, please?

Greetings from England.

Yes, we booked it and we thought it was totally worth the price, as the components separately would cost a lot more than the price of the package. Two recent threads with various views can be found at:

Very much worth the price. A bottle of champagne to share while feasting on chocolate covered strawberries.....Mmmmmm. A nice bottle of wine with your dinner at Le Bistro, along with some extra special attention from the staff.......go earlier in the cruise, and avoid the last minute rush.

The champagne and cake party is low key and well done.Stay as long or as short as you like after the complimentary photo is taken.

The only real variable are the canapes in your cabin on the second or third night. Nice touch, but maybe not to your taste. There is a lively discussion of that on the boards.

It's well worth the cost! We even liked the canapes....:)

We were recently on deck on the Majesty talking to a couple who mentioned they had never had caviar. I knew our canapes were due to be delivered. I got up, went to the room and brought them up on deck. The couple was thrilled and loved everything. They couldn't believe we didn't want anything from the plate.

Sep 30 2007 NCL Crown Bermuda was our first NCL. Cruise. After reading about the package, DW called to book the package. The person taking the booking kept asking whether we were celebrating Honeymoon or Anniversary. DW said that we were not celebrating anything -- we just wanted the package! And so at Le Bistro, they sang the Happy Honeymoon song for us! The package is definitely worth it. We took the Champagne, wine glasses, and the Strawberries to the top deck at sailaway and polished off the whole bottle to give us a great start for the cruise. /Sultan

Another great thing about the package is when you have your dinner at Le Bistro, if you really want to celebrate with a great bottle of wine you can. They will give you a $20.00 credit for the wine included in the package, so if you see a special wine, for example, priced at $48.00, you just pay the $28.00 difference.

We seldom pay $48 for a bottle of wine, but only paying $28 at that moment makes it MUCH less painful:D
