Noro quarantine and booked excursions?

Just curious, if one exhibits Noro-like symptoms and ends up quarantined in one's cabin for a couple of days, does HAL refund/give onboard credit for any pre-booked shore excurions that might be missed? (Excursions booked through the ship, that is.)

Yes, they do. If they quarantine you, they reimburse you for the missed excursions.

Of course, if you book your own independently, you're out of luck unless you have trip insurance.

Even for the plane/helecopter tours that are not refundable at that point and the person did not purchase insurance?

I am fairly certain that most insurers will not cover the cost of a lost shore excursion due to illness or trip delay. Do you know of any who will?
