Passport question?????

Hi. We just renewed our passports and got them back today. My husbands came back with not only his new one but his old one with one of the pictures he had to submit for the new one. Of course the old one is punched invalid..... now the strange part is I received mine in the mail today with only the new one......no old passport or picture was with mine. Should I be concerned? I know I can call them, but thought someone here could shed some light on this.

Somebody goofed, but I wouldn't worry about it ... unless you really want those old stamped pages for the memories. :) You might even get it in a separate mailing.

Your old one will come in a separate envelope ine the next few days

You don't generally get to keep your old one.

 

I changed my name last year and they kept the old passport and sent me the new one only.

I have my current passport and four old ones. They have always returned the old passport with a cancel stamp on the signature page. Each was returned in the same envelope as the new one.

We sent in our old passports on the same day. 4 weeks later I received both my new and old (canceled) passports in the same envelope.

 

2 weeks after that my wife received her old canceled passport in an envelope with one of her new pictures.

 

A week later she received her new passport in a priority mail envelope.

 

They also were sent from different passport processing centers even though they were mailed to the same address.

We have always gotten ALL our old ones returned to us in the same envelope as the new one.

Same here. We sent in both our renewal applications in one envelope. DH got his old passport back along with our new ones; mine came later in a different envelope. Go figure.

We've gotten the old one back ... with a lovely hole drilled in it. I'd also guess it will be in a separate mailing.

When I renewed mine this summer, I got my renewed passport back in about two weeks but the old one didn't showup for about a month.
