I think we should just tell the OP an Hotel. the best hotel near a pier is a Marriott. Now you have to guess which pier.

of course there is always the Radisson and if you must to save money the Days Inn...

leaves from the Manhattan west side piers(at 12th avenue and about 50th street). Any hotel in Manhattan will be close. The whole Island is 20 miles long. and less than 2 miles wide.

 

Its expensive. There are numerous threads on hotels in NY....name you chain take your poison on price. Priceline is a suggestion.

 

ok More questions

where are you coming from and when....how may people in your party how many nights are you driving flying taking Amtrak or Greyhound. You would really get a better answer if you took some time did a search and gave us some idea of what you really are looking for. The closest hotel is a HoJO or a the one at 57th street that used to be a hioliday Inn.

You should probably stay close to Penn Station where the Trains stop. Its also close to a lot of shopping (macy's herald square is right there), The Hotel Pennsylvania is an older hotel that has had bad reviews lately There are also a number of tourist type hotels on 35th Street.....

 

Go see a play while you are in the city as well....

The Hotel Pennsylvania is slated for demolition. Hope it doesn't go the fate of the Beaux Arts masterpiece Penn Station.

I doubt that any one will miss the hotel. Its not a landmark I would save. Just because something is old doesn't mean it worthy but they should have saved the old Penn Station....

Thanks for the link. I would be careful if you use it though since it isn't up to date. I just called up Port Canaveral since I know the hotels in that area. It does show the Radison but doesn't show either Country Inn and Suites or Residence Inn. Both of those hotels are newer but not that new.
