Cruises that stay in port overnite?

My husband & I would like to know if there are any cruises that stay in port overnite or perhaps for more than one nite? We loved our 7 day cruise, we just didn't have enuff time at each port. We would rather spend our time visiting these locals than on the water.

Thanx!

We have overnighted at Venice and Istanbul (Med cruise) and Copenhagen and St Petersburg(Baltics). Both on NCL.

We love overnight stops as you do get more time to see the cities. Especially someone like St Petersburg where a one day stop would not be anything like long enough.

There are several cruises out of the Northeast (NY, Boston) that go to Bermuda and stay for 3 or 4 days. They are very popular for that reason. Plus they tend to be more affordable than staying at a hotel and paying for meals.

See sample Itinerarys here http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/booking/cruisedetails.html?packageId=1214508

If you're talking Caribbean cruises or ones that cruise in Mexico or Alaska, you won't find many, if any, that do overnights. For those, you have to take a more exotic itinerary for overnight stays. The most popular overnights seems to be for St. Petersburg in Russia and Venice, Rome and Vietnam.
