I need help!

Hi Ladies:

I am in desperate need of help here. Yesterday, while "cruising" Nordstrom's Rack, I found an incredible dress at an incredibly low price. It's a black jersey wrap dress, and dare I say that I look HOT in it:D . I checked myself out front view ( elegant and sexy!), left-side view (elegant and sexy!), and right-side view (again elegant and sexy!). Then I made the mistake of checking out my back view - OMG: I have fat pads between the bottom of my bra and my waistline:eek: Where in the heck did they come from and when? That view was anything but elegant and sexy:( .

Sooo - what do I do to camouflage these totally unwanted and disgusting additions to my body? I'm guessing that there is no kind of exercise that will banish this disgusting flab, so I checked out the Spanx website and they have some sort of garment that apparently hooks onto the bra, slims the waistline and curves around the derriere. Has anyone tried this, is it comfortable (oh to heck with comfort) and most importantly will it make me look as though I can't even spell the words "fat pads".

Thanks for any help you can give me. Somehow you always manage to come up with wonderful solutions to all our problems.

Valerie:)

Are you sure your bra fits correctly, and you are wearing the band low enough on your back? Usually, the "back fat" is caused by the bra riding up too high on the back, where all the fat is! Try a larger band size (but one that still hugs you) and lengthen the straps. The straps have little to do with support! The band and cups should be doing the work! If you wear the bra lower, it almost eliminates the "roll"!

You could also try a "long-line" bra, if the above doesn't help! Good luck!

I wore a regular Spanx the entire day of my wedding with an outdoor ceremony in warm weather and found it very comfortable. I just pulled mine up to my bra line and it stayed there.

I had to go with a long line bra for my SIL's wedding and the boning and rubber edges killed me and I had red marks and bruising for days. Also really hot under 'the girls'.

I wish I could blame the bra for creating my back fat, but good luck to you with that.

You can get Assets by Sarah Blakely (the lady who invented Spanx) and Target for $15 - they don't have as many different options as Spanx but they do have one that goes from the mid thigh up to just under the bra line. I wore one at a wedding all day - it was not uncomfortable at all.

Do get sized for a bra, if you only have an issue with that one spot, you could be wearing the wrong size.

Thanks so much for all your help. I never even thought that it may be my bra that was causing the problem. Time to go bra shopping I guess. Hey - another excuse to go shopping (as if I needed one:D ).

The saran wrap idea? Certainly an interesting one!

My bras are the right size but I can still get a line under very clingy fabrics. I bought a fitted camisole that smooths everything. (I think it is Nancy Ganz?) If you can't get rid of the line with a new bra, you may want to check the foundation department for something like that.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'm off to check out the Nancy Ganz website. I did adjust my bra as suggested earlier (loosened the straps and made sure that the band was pulled down lower on my back) and it did help a lot, but there is still some unwanted tonnage just above the waistline area:( .

Just wanted to let you know that the kind Oprah was talking about is instant shape by Dr. Rober Rey. I was at Sears the other day looking for one of these such things and came across it. I did try on a few differnt brands and this one seemed to be the best for me. It didn't roll down or bulge all the fat.

One thing that seems to help with mine is swimming. I have noticed that I have less back/bra area fat since swimming. And I am wearing the correct bra size.

Hope this helped...

Just heard that Spanx brand is going to be coming out with a product called Braleluiah (might be spelled wrong) it's designed to eliminate the fat rolls under the bra line. I'm anxious to see it even though I won't wear the foundation garments they make...way too hot and uncomfortable for Arizona.

If I need something to smooth out a bulge under a dress, Nancy Ganz is my favorite designer for this type of undergarment. They never feel like you're wrapped in steel.

Have a look at this site on-line:

www.bravissimo

I think they post to the US. There is a recommendation on their home page from a US customer. You don't say what bra size you are so perhaps this site won't be helpful to you as they specialise in bras with bigger cup sizes. Not necessarily for larger ladies - my DD wears their bras and she's a 28FF - she says they're the most comfortable bras she's ever worn and that they actually fit her! They also sell strappy tops, swimwear, etc.You might get some ideas though that will help you and don't worry - my fat pads snuck up on me too!;)

Go and get professionally fitted for a bra. Nordstrom's specializes in this.
