No access to Users Gallery? - what's that about?!

Good idea to have a Photo Gallery

where folks can post BIG pictures for the world to see

our ships and out travels

but I'm constantly frustrated by my inability

to access anyone's User Gallery, even my very own .

 

 

 

It always says

 

You do not have permission to view the images in this category.

 

 

 

 

What's going on?

I'm signed in. I contribute.

I can't access my own gallery of my own pics?

 

Something's wrong.

What am I doing wrong?

I share your frustration - went away for about a month (on a cruise :D ) and hoped that by the time I came back some of these "teething problems" had been fixed - not so it appears :(

 

The only way to look at all your own photos (I just want to be able to check which ones I have uploaded already) is to do a search and put in your username :rolleyes:

 

Also still no slideshow ...

Right now it won't even allow me to log in (or recognise my logged-in status from the main boards :eek:

I've discovered 1 way to see my own photos in one place..

 

You need to fill in your Profile,it seems. :confused:

 

Look up on the blue bar that goes across the top of the Photo Gallery page

you'll see...

 

My Photos . My Favorites ________________ Home . Search . PROFILE . Upload Photos

 

 

 

Click on Profile and fill in a few criteria about yourself

and when you're done and you Submit

you'll notice there's a few other categories over in a left-hand column

Profile

Statistics

Photos

Comments

 

clicking on Photos shows all your stuff in one place - :eek:

 

 

 

Thinking I had the general problem licked

I hurried back out into the regular Photo Gallery area

to click on my very own users gallery hoping it would work but..

no luck today! :(

 

 

Hopefully one of Santa's little elves is working on the problem of...

Hi aplmac - I see you reside in Barbados - we were in Bridgetown early in November aboard the Norwegian Dawn - we did the 'Coast to Coast' tour which gave us a good overview - very nice.

Did you by any chance take some shots of the Norwegian Dawn in port on Friday Nov 2, 2007? If so, I would love to see them :)

 

Hope the Photo Gallery functions continue to improve - at least today I am able to log in to the gallery :rolleyes:

Just had a look at my NCL section over at

but see that somehow I must've missed that one!

I usually work Fridays,so that may have been the reason,

that plus cloudy/rainy weather?(I pick and choose when it's like that)

 

Sometimes cruise-ships come into Port ridiculously early

which is a bad time both for light

and for me getting out of my warm bed

on darkish mornings(this time of year).

Hi aplmac - hope you had a good Christmas.

Hopefully we'll see some improvements in the photo gallery in the new year. The way to see all of your (or someone else's) photos together, is to do a search and type in the user's name as the search criteria. That is the only thing that has worked for me so far :)

 

Pity that you did not catch the Norwegian Dawn when we were there, seeing that you take such good shots of the ships in port. I don't she she'll be coming back your way until Nov 2008 now.

It's been a few months and growing pains are to be expected. When it first came up in October, you could upload pictures to your profile, view other photos by browsing and do rudimentary searches. You could also rate and comment on photos. Unfortunately, a lot of the advanced features that would allow you to click on a user's hyper-linked name and go to their gallery or even your own gallery were disabled with a "no permission" error. you also couldn't browse through your own profile to review which pictures you had already posted unless you went to the search function and searched by username. The "more photos" link at the bottom was also not functional.
