Manhattan Port Details

Can anyone tell me when the port building opens for guests to arrive? We are arriving at JFK from LAX at 7:30am on December 22 and plan to go directly to the port. I expect we will arrive at 9:00am at the earliest. I will call the port tomorrow to check, but any help and your experience of the amenities at the port waiting area would be very helpful.

They probably won't open the doors quite that early. They need to disembark returning guests and can't start taking your luggage. There is a section prior to where you check in where they may let folks enter to get out of the elements but there are no comforts there and I'm not even sure they let you enter that early.

There is a bathroom and some small snack bar when you first enter. I didn't pay too much attention to the snack bar and what they had or what time it opens. But, it is really too early to plan on arriving.

There isn't much of anything inside the building. You'd be better off staying at the airport for shopping or eating!
