prescottbob Posted December 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2007 Ahoy! I appears that Mrs. Claus rummaged through my 'jewlery' box (a finely crafted wooden Maganudo cigar box) and found some old mariner pins amongst my 'treasures' (that also includes such items as my elementary school safety patrol badge, a 'Playmate' peep show key chain circa 1960's, military do-dads, risque tie clips, etc.). The red ones are cuff links & the blue 'guys' are shirt studs. Now let's cruise! May everyone have a wonderful New Year!!! Bon Voyage and Good Health! Bob:)
sail7seas Posted December 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2007 Those are neat!!! Do you remember where/when you got them? The studs are terrific! Thanks for posting this photo. I've never seen tie pins, studs, cufflinks with the Mariner logo but sure would like to find some.

jhannah Posted December 30, 2007 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2007 I can't see it, either. Just a small box with a red x in it.
prescottbob Posted December 30, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted December 30, 2007 Ahoy! Looked fine earlier. Don't ya just love technology? In any event if the pix disppears again into the 'ethos' it was simply a shot of #4 blue pins made into shirt studs and # 2 red pins made into cuff links by a local jewler. Bon Voyage and Good Health! Bob:)

Bon Voyage and Good Health! Bob:) What a great idea. We are just about getting our gold and think it would be fun to have studs made for DH to wear on formal nights. ;) Better do it soon before there no longer is a formal night on the ships. ;) I'll have to see how to go about getting extra pins. Your photo showed fine earlier but I am getting the red 'x' now also.

prescottbob Posted December 31, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted December 31, 2007 Ahoy! My best friend and DW, Judy, had cruised ten less days on HAL prior to our marriage (35+ years ago). I had rec'd three (@25, 35 & 47 HAL days) and she rec'd hers (@25, & 47 days). Needless to say, the 'red's ones kicked in after that. She took my three 'blues' and added one of hers to make the set of #4 studs. Just a crazy stocking stuffer from my thoughtful lady. May you and everyone have a Wonderful New Year Ahead. Now let's cruise! Bon Voyage and Good Health! Bob:)

takemewithyou Posted December 31, 2007 #14 Share Posted December 31, 2007 Such a great idea!! Thanks for sharing. Another Mrs. Claus may have to steal your wife's idea. Otherwise, the pins just sit there. :)
