Jen & Kim Posted January 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Our plane arrives in Seattle at noon the day before our cruise sails. We would like to head straight over to Vancouver and spend the night. Leaving at noon (we'll miss the train), what would be the best option for getting to Vancouver? Renting a car and driving or taking a bus? Thanks!
Rare ceilidh1 Posted January 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Either option would work out fine. The bus we always take (we live in Vancouver and often pop down to Seattle) is the Quick Shuttle www.quickcoach.com It takes about 4 hours and, in my opinion, is far more favorable to driving. The driver usually asks where you want to get off in Vancouver and will drop you right at the door of the hotel (or wherever). We drove once and got held up at the border for quite a while (of course, this can happen with the bus, too, but never has yet!), not to mention the hassles of doing the actual driving. After a flight, it certainly isn't something I would want to do - I would prefer to get on a bus and go to sleep for a few hours. The bus picks up at the airport, too! Budget Queen Posted January 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 11, 2008 I have taken Quick Shuttle twice, including in 2007. They do a good job. But I do greatly prefer a car rental for more flexability and choices of touring, lodging, meals etc.
Yukon Posted January 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2008 After taking QuickShuttle twice and having a bus break down twice (and a terrible driver once), we now fly the connection. Far superior and sometimes only a few bucks more than the ground options. Murray
