perfect cruise?

Recommended Posts

I know that the newest "best" ships usually tend to have more sea days,

So that being said,

If you could put any ship with any islands or ports, or even with no ports at all....

which ship, and what would your itinerary be for your perfect cruise?

Any of the "newer" CCL ships with the movie screen on Lido (Liberty, Freedom, possibly Splendor) doing an exotic Southern Caribbean itinerary with Aruba as a port. Loved the "old" Destiny route - Barbados, Dominica, Aruba, etc. Don't need a lot of sea days. I'm looking into Victory for Christmas '09 - may even book it today!

I think it's a bit of an oxymoron to talk about any sort of "Realistic Fantasy". Honestly, if money were truly no object at all I don't know if I'd even consider Carnival. I'd probably start with something like Regent 7-Seas 14 day Tahiti itinerary. The Owner's Suite on the Paul Gauguin is just under $40k per person.

However, I'm trying to push the rest of my family to do a group cruise in 2010, and the Miracle (last of the Spirit class ships built for Carnival) to Southern Caribbean is what I'd love to convince them is best. For me that would be a enough of a realistic fantasy.

I saw something like this the other day offered by Crystal Cruise Line.

It was $60,000 pp. for a balcony cabin, or $50,000 for a window!

I am sure that if I were on a cruise ship for 3 1/3 months I would spend the extra 10,000 and have a balcony:rolleyes: :D

This is the Tahitian Princess itinerary for 2009...or was it 2010? Anyhoo, playing around this morning, it was $74k for stateroom 6001 (deck 6, very front of the ship).

The world cruise is my dream (that i'll probably never realize) cruise. Nice to have dreams huh...LOL. I wonder how much my SS bill would be on this one?

Although I love Carnival........

However, currently I think the "PERFECT" cruise ship belongs to Princess. The ISLAND PRINCESS.... Design, Pax ratio… it goes on and on. It is a truly wonderful ship, it has the whole package. Although I will say it is more of an “adult” ship then a "family" ship.

I will be on the Celebrity Millennium for a 15 day in a few months. People say it will give the ISLAND PRINCESS a serious run for her money…. hmmmmmmm.. I am open-minded but that is quite the challenge. Perhaps I am just smitten by the Island Princess… time will tell.

Ships are just like women, each and every one has it's beauty and charm.

since constellation and millenium are sister ships I'm sure that you won't be disapointed....again more of an adult, luxurious feel instead of glitz. even though I enjoy both, which is why I usually bounce from cruiseline to cruiseline, This class is tops...beautiful woods and natural color tones, mixed with a lot of glass, and large windows, and the adult thalassopy (spelling?) pool.....Now if I could have only had the carnival crowd then It would have been perfect :D .. Although it was only the first few sailings when I went on her, so it was a little more $ ..we ended up with a quieter crowd.:(
