Summergee Posted April 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2008 My husband has a black suit with the jacket being an Edwardian-style frock coat. He has had it made for our daughters wedding this June and it would be nice if he could extra use from it, after the wedding. How would this fit in with the evening dress codes? calikak Posted April 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2008 Don't know. I hear many people wear kilts with Prince Charlie jackets, but not sure if a frock coat would be appropriate.

zider Posted April 15, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2008 if the coat in question is double breasted and has peaked lapels it is formal attire and is acceptable / if it is single breasted and has notched lapels it is informal attire and is not acceptable
susietb Posted April 16, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 16, 2008 As long as it's black, it's acceptable. I'm sure he will look handsome!
Lanky Lad Posted April 16, 2008 #8 Share Posted April 16, 2008 I have a frock coat and wear it at least once a cruise, but it's single brested so I only wear it on an informal night. I get a few odd looks from people as I go about the ship, but I quite enjoy it. :D
