petalpalz Posted April 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2008 I recently returned from a cruise on another NCL ship and have booked a December cruise. We really enjoyed the multiline penny machines. Does the Star have these in their casino? What was your favorite?

We really enjoyed the multiline penny machines. Does the Star have these in their casino? What was your favorite? they have several: one bank it a multi denomiation (spelling) that you can play pennies. 2 cents or nickels. Along the back wall they have several more with about 6 or 7 Cashman machines. Oh, also there are a bunch to the lesf as soon as you walk in. I don't know what was my favorite, I guess the ones that you can play pennies or nickels but I have always loved Cashman. Nita
Rare kjquilts Posted April 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2008 One of the machines i remember is Raking It In - it's one where you can play 1, 2 or 5 cents (per line). Probably remember it because we did ok - came out ahead on it. There was another machine i really liked but can't remember the name right now. We played the Cashman machines a couple times - you could play for a LONG time on $5.00. Have fun :) Karen
luvncruising Posted April 21, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2008 Yes the cashman machines at the back were fun. You could play on them a long time. The rake it in, piggies, etc. to the right are 2 cents, 5 cents and 10 cents. To the left there are some 2 cent machines and even a penny monopoly. All of these machines are multiple lines. They were fun. Just got off the ship Wednesday.

terrymtex01 Posted April 22, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 22, 2008 From what I have read on this string, most people seemed to have liked the casino in the NCL Star. I thought i was kind of small, to be honest. And, we lost a TON of money in it last November. The only thing we really won was i hit a $1500.00 jackpot on the ten times quarter machine back by the cashier window. That was about a tenth of what we lost during the whole cruise. The casino staff was great. Of course.. if I had someone handing over money to me like we were to them, I would be great too. :) Oddly enough, the best I did other than on that one quarter machine was on the six penny machines up towards the front next to the Monte Carlo quarter machine. I almost always came out ahead on those by a little bit. I always played maxium number of pennys though. Don't know if that made a difference or not. One last thing I will tell you is that other than my $1500.00 jackpot, the only other one I saw winning pay outs was a guy playing the $25.00 and $100.00 slot machines. luvncruising Posted April 22, 2008 #10 Share Posted April 22, 2008 I was on the April 8th - 16th sailing and I only saw 1 person win $400 on the $1 wheel of fortune. But I was only in the casino from about 11:oo p.m. to 2:00 a.m. I saw 1 cool cat machine - think it was .25 and I didn't see any stampede machines! Have fun! kapoho2 Posted April 22, 2008 #11 Share Posted April 22, 2008 Last week my husband and I both hit for over $100 (total of $300) at about the same time playing quarter machines on opposite sides of the casino. Unfortunately, we had both only played ONE quarter....othewise we would have won many more hundreds of dollars. I also saw a lady win $1000 on a video poker machine. I also saw that same lady sitting at that same machine for the rest of the cruise :D .

I think it is really important for all of us to remember casinos are not there for us to win money and on ships they are even tighter. Yes, I found the machines on the Star a little tighter than on the Sun, but I was still having fun playing. To me it is just a form of entertainment with a secret desire to get rich quick!!!!lOL

I won a jackpot on another cruise line once. I did find these to be the tightest machines of any ship so far but I definetely had fun too! I also have that secret desire... at least to be able to win enough to pay a couple of bills. ha ha
