NHL playoffs onboard

We were on the Enchantment for Super Bowl weekend, but it was far from the experience I wanted. They were showing it in the lounge and the Schooner Bar, but they were so crowded with people saving seats that there was no where for us to sit. Then passengers with seats became very aggressive if you were standing in their way. The point of this is that we found out that the casino bar was showing the game on two TVs, it was much less crowded and the people watching were a lot more fun!

 

If the playoffs are on a network, you may get lucky. I know that they had the Indy 500 in sports bar on the Explorer last year. I would check in with the Guest Relations people. If there is enough interest, you may be able to pre-empt soccer.:)

As crazy as this sounds, I pushed my cruise back 2 weeks so I could catch the end of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I really have a feeling this is my Penguins year. We were due to lose one so might as well be up 3 games to none when you lose.

I go to most games with my POP who is 77, good quality time with him and games he's not up for I take my son 11, keep it in the family.....my boat name is "Da Birds"

While we were on the Jewel in Feb. there was no hockey to be had anywhere. Even tried bribing the bartenders at the sports bar to get Hockey Night in Canada on. No luck... I doubt the NBC games will be available either, it seemed to me the only "network" available was a hybrid CBS thing. Showing reruns of How I met your mother etc. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think you will be able to view.

I cant speak for hockey ....but we were on the Navigator during "March Madness" and they had the games playing in the Ixtapa lounge on the very big screen tv and it was great!!! Hope you get to see your playoffs!

We were on the Liberty in June last year. The last couple of games in the finals were played that week and they were not televised on the ship.

 

We had hoped, since it was the Stanley Cup finals and since there are many international passengers, that we could see the games SOMEWHERE on the ship...but nope.

 

Enjoy your cruise. Avoid any news and TiVo the games!

I married a Redskins fan so football season is quite interesting in our house! Yes us Philly fan are long suffering! lol

 

Same here. My 6yrs old knows the Eagles chant and Fly Eagles Fly song -much to my husband's dismay! I told him we can live in Maryland but my daughter will never root for any team other then the Eagles and Flyers. She is really getting into the Stanley Cup Playoffs -we TIVO them for her. :D

Awh, man, I was really hoping the Stanley Cup finals would be on during my Enchantment cruise next week, but from this thread that doesnt look likely. At least I will only miss games 1 and 2.

With the games being on Versus, you're not going to the the Finals. Unless RCCI has a contract with NBC, you probably won't even see games on there.
