Age range on Amadeus

I received an Amadeus cruise brochure yesterday and noticed that all the persons pictured were young. What are the ages of the majority of the passengers?

I haven't seen their brochure but perhaps the photo showed staff which are mostly under 30. We cruisers were mostly 55+.

I celebrated my 49th birthday on the Amadagio a couple of weeks ago. Other than another couple we traveled with and one or two others, everybody else could have been my parents (and several could have been my grandparents).

I am in my upper 30's. I sailed last year on Amadeus - there were 3 people younger then I and a lot of people in the 50's and 60's and then those older.

I had thought Amadeus was trying to appeal to younger people - not sure how that is working.

I traveled last year on Amadagio. I'm 55 and was the youngest, besides the staff. I would say 65 and older. But I had a great time talking and getting to know everyone. Don't let age discourage you. Someone's life experience can be quite interesting! If your looking for a young and partying crowd, river cruising is not what you want. I found it very relaxing (what I was looking for) but extremely interesting with not only the shipmates but ports.

Whatever you decided, enjoy life to it's fullest!

My mother and I are going the Heartland Cruise in late September. She is very healthy, but sometimes has trouble walking. I figured since the cruise seems to cater to older clientele, the tours shouldn't be too strenous, but I was thinking about getting her one of those fold up walkers with a seat and basket? Would it be worth the trouble. I imagine there will be a lot of cobblestone streets?

We were on an Amadeus ship in April and the age ranged from early 50's to mid-80's. The mid-80's couple didn't miss a beat and out danced everyone else on the ship - so don't let the age impact your decision as to which ship to choose. No matter which line you choose - it will never be the party boat some cruises seem to be (thank goodness!!!)
