Cruising The Conquest June 1st - 8th

Recommended Posts

I know that some people don't like the singing and stuff that they do in the dining room, but we had a BLAST, can ya tell

ConquestCruiseJune2008048.jpg

It was fun cruising with friends who had never done it before, it made everything just that much more exciting!!!

We were glad to have gotten our dinnertime changed to late, it is just too hard to try and get everyone ready for that early dining time, especially being the sunworshipers that we are!!

This was an every evening event with the girls

Ohhhh arn't they sweet!!!

When we got back to the room, this was waiting for Tara

Thank you Iryl!!

It didn't take much in the evening for Tara to get her jammies on and off to Camp Carnival. They LOVED her, all she did was sleep!!!!

Hubby and I took a stroll on Lido after dinner, then off to the casino. I went back and forth between blackjack and slots, hubby is a blackjack man!!!

Geesh, my computer decided to freeze up, what the heck, guess I put it into overload!!!

I had Tuesday almost done too, and lost it, so here I go again.....

Tuesday Another Fun Day At Sea

And that is what it was too!!! A very laid back day.

Breakfast was at the Buffet, which we all found to be good, everything from hubby's omelet, to my fruit and bagel, Tara had cereal, muffins, fruit, just a little bit of everything. No complaints.

Before I go any further I guess I should mention, since it has been very lacking except for a picture or 2.

Rememeber my son? Where did he go? What did he do?

He hung out, like most teenagers. He had an awesome time, as did Jodi's daughter and her niece.

During the day it was Lido and food, evenings after dinner (cuz we had a rule, dinner with family every night, no questions asked) it was the kids disco and Lido and more food, and more food!!

We never had a problem, we could always find him when we went looking and he could always find us.

We had a key to his room, God Bless that Boy, he shared a room with 2 teenage girls, poor guy!!

Thank goodness they are like his sisters! We told them we could and would walk in at anytime. Never had a problem.

After breakfast we took Tara to Camp and we were off to our place, you got it Lido Deck lounge chairs and morning DOD's, and live music!! Life is great!

About 11:30 went and got Tara and it was family time on Lido.

Everyone chose their own lunch, mine was Fish n Chips from Sur Mer, it was every bit as good as everyone said it would be, yummy yummy.

We lounged and played all afternoon, some pooltime, hot tub time, DOD time, buckets of beer time....did I mention Buckets of Beer, Many many buckets of beer!!!

About 4 it was to the room for afternoon nap for Tara and balcony for Mom and Dad.

We are officially Balcony Snobs now, we loved it. Hubby said he will never have another inside room.

I told him never say never, with prices the way they are, you never know, but my first choice will for sure be a balcony.

So peaceful sitting out there, just watching the ocean go by, nothing like it in the world!

After Tara got her nap out then it was get ready for dinner time.

Dinner was once again wonderful. I should have taken notes on dinner cuz I can't remember for sure what was eaten when, but here is a sample of some of it...

Just remember it wasn't all on the same night!!!!

Shrimp Cocktails

Stuffed Mushrooms- did not think they were as good as last year, they had changed the recipe up, still good, just not up to last year.

Fried Shrimp

Chateaubriand yummy yummy

Beef Stroganoff, not your normal stroganoff, when I ordered it I was a little hesitant, but it was very good.

Tenerloin Steak

Warm Chocolate Melting Cake

Cheese Cake

Bitter & Blanc (OMG, heavenly wonderful!!!)

these are just some of what we had.

After dinner Tara was a bit on the crabby side and did not want to go to Camp, so she and I just went to the room and crashed.

Not a bad idea since Jamaica is tomorrow!!

Hubby went to the casino.

This was our towel animal for the night and our little camera hog Machscot whom is still thinking it is formal night. Can't take him anywhere!!!

Wednesday Jamaica Day!!!

What can you say about Jamaica, you either Love it or ya Hate it!! We love it!!

We chose to do the Sunset Beach Resort this year.

Just a short taxi ride $3 per person.

Sunset Beach was wonderful. Felt totally safe, never harrassed by anyone, except our kids!!!!:p

We thought it was a great deal for the price, $40 for adults, $20 for the kids.

Food, drinks, water toys, pool, waterslides, lazy river, did I mention food and drinks, all included.

We started out on the beach, the kids loved it

ConquestCruiseJune2008072.jpg

After a couple hours we moved over to the pool area

where hubby got lazy on the lazy river

Another pic from Sunset Beach Resort

ConquestCruiseJune2008079.jpg

After a while the clouds started rolling in

ConquestCruiseJune2008084.jpg

it started thundering so we decided to pack it up and head for Jimmy's Place!!!! WOOOOOHOOO!!!!!

While we were at Sunset Beach we ran into some of our Cruise Critic friends so we all hooked up in the same taxi (minibus)and headed to Margaritaville!!

We had soooo much fun, and the timing was perfect cuz the minute we walked inside Margaritaville the skies opened up and it POURED down rain.

We ran into some more Cruise Critic friends there and we had a good ole time partying it up, as much as you can with your kids there anyway!!

The older kids did the Waterslide out into the ocean, son loved it, the big girls were scared. I'm Chicken Little so would not even think about it, plus I might get wet!!!

Here is a pic of my son flipping into the water

It was sooo cool being at Margaritaville. I had been to the one in Vegas and let me tell ya, NO comparison to the one in MoBay.

Here's a pic of me and hubby, not too many of those as I seemed to always be the pic taker, which is the way I like it!!!

ConquestCruiseJune2008097.jpg

Okay gotta go finish dinner, will wrap up Jamaica when I get back.

OKay, I'm back!! Dinner done, kitchen clean.
Soooo where was I? Oh yes, Margaritaville!!!

The taxi driver that picked us up at Sunset Beach and took us to Margaritaville said that he would be back at 4 to pick us up, and he was, along with a whole bunch of others.
They were swarming outside that door.
We hated to leave, but sure didn't want to miss our ship!!!
So off we go back to port

We arrived back at port safe and sound.
We did a little shopping before we got in the security line.
They did seperate the guys and the girls.
No groping reported by anyone.

Everything went smooth and we returned onboard to find our balcony dividers open and our cooler packed full of ice. Thank you Iryl.

Sailing away from Jamaica

Our special guests for our sailaway party, they loved the balcony

About 20 minutes after we sailed, Iryl came to close our dividers, so sad, but understand it is the rules.
So it's time to prepare for dinner.

So off to dinner we go.
We stopped off at the casino bar, listened to the band and daddy got to dance with his little girl

I thought the band was really pretty good. They played a wide variety and seemed to always know what the crowd wanted.

During the dinnertime hours there was lots of kids so they played lots of line dancing stuff, which I know nothing about.

I'm old school, if you can't touch the one that brought you to the dance then why dance!

Tara is getting that ChaCha Slide down pretty good though.

Time for dinner now, which once again was awesome.

Tonight I believe was the night that Tara ordered grilled cheese instead of Chicken Nuggets!!!!

Then she assumed the position

So it's off to the room and bed tonight.

Hey Chris...it's all that swimming that makes her sleepy, and we made her lay down for a nap each afternoon, and she still crashed at dinner.
At least she ate first!

I forgot to mention this earlier, but I met Ralph, our cruise director.
I introduced myself as a Crazy, and he asked me if I had Loki, I told him No, I had Machbird and Cap N Crazy.
He asked me to bring them to the show that night after dinner, but I didn't make it.

I believe that was meltdown night for Tara.

I tried several times to catch up with him with the Scots, but never did, so sorry Crazies, no pics of the Scots with Ralph.
But hey I got one with our Maitre D, that counts doesn't it? and the waitstaff!!
