Good Seafood Restaurant in San Diego???

A group of us will be sailing on the Oosterdam in October and we had planned to eat at Anthony's across the street from the HI on the bay, but have heard that Anthony's may not be all that good, old and with not so good food:confused:

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good seafood reastaurant perhaps near the harbor that we could check out? Thanks in advance for any help:) :)

Anthony's food is good; it is not, however, gourmet. More of a family restaurant with sides like fries and cole slaw. A better seafood restaurant on the harbor in my opinion is the Fish House which is located just on the far side of the carrier Midway. The downstairs has a shellfish and pasta bar and restaurant with both inside and outside dining. The upstairs is a little more gourmet and therefore more expensive. Go early and try to get a window seat; they are open before noon for lunch downstairs.:)

Anthonys is still a great place. http://www.gofishanthonys.com/index2.html

Check out the restaurants at Seaport Village, I like the Pier Cafe. http://www.seaportvillage.com/restaurants/

I have to agree with LeoandHugh about the Fish Market. My DH and I have enjoy many outstanding meals there. They even have a very good sushi bar downstairs.

If you have time for a tour the Midway is right there, all are within walking distance of the cruise ship.

I would pass on the restaurants at Seaport Village. I was there last month and was very disappointed.

I think taking the passenger ferry across to Coranado and having dinner at Pehoe's is a great option for a visitor to San Diego. The ride across the bay on the ferry provides a bit of a harbor tour and the views from the restaurant can be great. Here is the link to the restaurant's web site: http://www.peohes.com/

One of the things I do want to do is tour the Midway, also a harbor tour would be great, we may do lunch at Peohes, lots of great info from everyone, thanks:)

The Midway takes 2 hours for a quick "walk-through" or 4 hours if you're a plane or ship nut like I am! FYI there is a very good cafe on the fantail of the Midway if you need a quick snack before a real lunch! The Midway is a 5 minute walk from the cruise docks, you can save a few $$ on admission if you show your AAA card.

Lots of good suggestions. We love Peohes, it's our go to restaurant for Valentine's Day every year. Anthony's is good, the Fish Market is great (downstairs is casual and upstairs in dresser and more expensive). The Oceanaire in the Gaslamp Quarter always gets rave reviews.

For our Pre Cruise Dinner out of San Diego this Oct, we have narrowed our list down to the Fish Market, Miguels, or Brigantine. majority of us are staying at the HI Bayside near the airport because we got a group rate. At least three couples will have their cars.
