What Do You Want to Know About Eurodam -- Cruise Critic Onboard June 27th

Thanks for all your information on the blogs. We are booked on the Eurodam for July 19 – 29. We were last to book and had few options. We opted for one of the VT staterooms on the observation deck. Please tell us what to expect. I know the balcony is a “viewing balcony” . What does that exactly mean? Can you actually step out and stand only or can you not step out at all. Is it a noisy area? Would there be a lot of rocking?

Be let me know. Thank you

If you go to the HAL site and ships, then click on Eurodam and the deck plans, you can click on your room and get a virtual view. The VT rooms on the Observation deck show a balcony with chairs.

Hope it doesn't get too rocky. I've never been that high. It shouldn't where you are going. We did the Baltic back last year in July on the Celebrity Century. Had a great time! Enjoy!

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

We have done several Baltic cruises and yes we have had some rough weather -- you may feel the waves on the Observation Deck. Yes those balconies are small - viewing only.

These are pictures that RevNeal took:

Brian and Scotty measure the balcony of a VT-category ("Very tiny") cabin, just abaft the Crows Nest.

A lot of time has passed since this thread was originally posted and Eurodam has long ago worked out kinks she first experienced. We have sailed Eurodam four cruises in the last year and had wonderful time on each. She's a very beautiful ship, lots of amenities and choices and a wonderful crew.

Hope you have a great cruise on her. Enjoy.

Those pictures are not specific to each room, but just show a "typical" cabin of the class. The VTs are not typical, as KK's posting of Rev Neal's pictures show. If you click on a deck 4 VH or VF, which have the steel-wall balconies, you get the same incorrect picture as for the VT.

There is language all through the website and on the virtual deckplans that state:

Important Note: Not all staterooms within each category have the same furniture configuration and/or facilities. Appropriate symbols within the rooms on the deck plans describe differences from the stateroom descriptions below. All information is subject to change.

Under VT it specifically states (and the virtual tour shows):

2 lower beds convertible to 1 queen-size bed, bathtub & shower, sitting area, private verandah, floor-toceiling windows. VT staterooms have viewing balconies. Approximately 254 sq. ft.

Boy that would be disappointing to book and expect it to look like that. Thanks for the warning.
