What satellite TV channels available on PS?

Just getting my Olympic events organized to watch and was wondering what satellite TV available on PS.I guess Sky for sport?

Any help would be great!:D

Thanks

Mick

Can't help for PS, but would be a shame if there was not much coverage of the Olympics. Would be bad enough missing Neighbours for a couple of weeks! ;)

When we were on the Pacific Sun there was no live TV coverage of sporting events, but the events were not as important as the Olympics (sorry to the footy fans). The Cruise Director arranged for key events to be shown at a scheduled time in the Legends Bar. However, there might have to be other arrangements with the Olympics because a lot of people will be interested in seeing events, and probably only a bit over 100 could fit in the Legends Bar.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. Have a great cruise.:):)

So it might be "bring your own chair to the legends bar".:D

Thanks Ela.

Arxcards, you can only hope for the soap watching people they have Neighbours reruns on dvd!:D:eek::D

You are not kidding abour 'bring your own chair'. Whenever they held trivia in the Legends, half the people had to raid the casino next door for stools, and others had to stand up. The area was too small for trivia, so I hope they show video of the Olympics in another venue - maybe Terraces, or the Atlantas Lounge (whichever is free at the time).:):)

When we were on PS, trivia was nearly always held in the showlounge (plenty of room:) ), with the occassional one in Terraces.

Hi Karen,

This might depend on the Cruise Director or deputy. I see your cruise was in 2006. Ours on the Pacific Sun were December 2007, Feb/Mar 2008 and April/May 2008. On a couple of occasions trivia was held in Terraces, and on the last cruise in particular, quite a few were held in the Atlantis Lounge. On all these cruises, it was held several times in Legends, and we all grumbled. I can't imagine fitting the number who would want to watch Olympic events into the Legends Bar.:):)

Ela - You maybe interested to know that there is little or no satellite reception once a bit East of New Caledonia.

On recent W818 the satellite channels were blank for most of the voyage due to there being no reception in the area.

On my first cruise on Pacific Sky in September 2001, it was about 2 days after 9/11 in America. I remember in the Legends bar, on the big tv, they showed coverage of it on CNN. Not sure how long the coverage lasted for. It seemed to always be on. But I am not sure about Pacific Sun.
