DMorris Posted April 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2004 We have second seating on the AOS. I know most nights dinner is at 9pm. What I am wondering is, what time is dinner the first night with sail away, muster drill and everything? Thanks for your help. DMorris Posted April 13, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 13, 2004 So dinner was at 8:30pm? or the muster drill was at 8:30? Jimbo Posted April 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I saw somewhere that the muster drill is at 830pm and the late dinner seating is at it's normal time 9pm, just like the whole cruise, late dinner is at 9pm. Will know more about it for sure in a month, email me Dee when I get back. DMorris Posted April 13, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I will do that... can't wait for our cruise. I had read that the first night's dinner was earlier due to sail away. Has anyone else been on the AOS recently that can answer? Jimbo Posted April 13, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Dee, I would think that what you read was the early seating dinner that first night was earlier then normal.....at 6pm instead of 6:30pm. That would allow time for the muster drill to be inbetween seatings that first night..... Rest of cruise the early dinner would be at 6:30pm and the late at 9:00 pm. iv18-Diane Posted April 13, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Dinner on the First night was the same as the other nights. 6:30 and 9:00. Muster was at 8:30. Casual the first night. I was just on the 4/4 sailing. The Card said 6;15 but it was 6:30 when they let everyone in. I had changed to Early as the table they gave me for late was in the back in a private dining room. We checked it out earlier that day and changed it to a table that was available at Early Seating. It turned out late, would have been to late as I dined late one night with the Captain. DMorris Posted April 14, 2004 Author #13 Share Posted April 14, 2004 So what did everyone do about the sailaway if you had late seating? iv18-Diane Posted April 14, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 14, 2004 Dee, I assumed they missed the sailaway. I had late going on the ship but changed to early when I got a table in a private room . Only early was available. I am glad I changed because late was too late. mconthehighseas Posted April 14, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 14, 2004 We sailed in Sept (see line below!) and it was a stormy night on departure. We ate dinner during the sailaway, but it was too yucky to be outside anyway. I didn't have a window table, but if I did, I would have asked for the curtains to be open! My first dinner was at a table for 4. The husband of the other couple kept complaining about the weather and kept asking if it was going to be like that the shole cruise. Fortunately it wasn't. The great thing about cruises is that they find good weather and go there! Adventure of the Seas 9/21/03 - wish I was still there!!!
Lerxst Posted April 14, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 14, 2004 We were on the 3/14 sailing and the boat left port while we were still eating. It was about 10:10 p.m. 01/96 Oceanic 03/04 Adventure
DMorris Posted April 14, 2004 Author #19 Share Posted April 14, 2004 Hmmm, may have to skip dinner the first night or eat really fast. skiiergirl Posted April 14, 2004 #20 Share Posted April 14, 2004 When we sit down the first night we tell the waiter that we want to do the sail away. He/she then will usually provide as quick service as they can. We tell them upfront that we are skipping dessert that night. They always act "hurt" so we promise to eat an extra dessert on another night to make up for it. You might miss the first few minutes of sailaway but should get to enjoy some of it. (Besides...the ship doesn't always leave on time.)
