Balcony on the freedom

I am looking to book a balcony ( first time for balcony) on the Freedom in late March and am looking for suggestions. We are thinking about on the Lido deck. Any pros or cons?

Thanks

The room and the balcony is the same regardless of the floor your on unless the room is designated has having an extended balcony or you upgrade to a 9A or suite. My DS loves the Lido deck because of easy access and we did find it very quite (surprisingly). If you have a tendency for motion sickness then the higher up on the ship the more you may feel it. Personally I just don't see paying the additional money for a standard balcony just because you are on a higher floor. For us, if a 9A is not available then we usually go with an 8A midship and usually don't have a problem finding a way to spend the money we saved. Regardless of which balcony you choose you will have a wonderful time, happy cruising.

The aft balcony staterooms are actually extended balconies in the 8 category. I booked one on the Empress (or was it the Upper) deck and my personal planner guy said all the aft balconies are double in size..not wider, but longer. And these are the ones between the 9A rooms and for same price as a regular balcony cabin. A little unknown secret on Carnival ships i guess!

We usually go for 8B cabins, as they are sandwiched between other floors of cabins. We have been 4-5 cabins from the bow and aft areas - liked both locations. One was a quick trip down the stairs to the showroom, casino, lounges, and one was a quick trip up the stairs to Lido. Loved them both. Enjoy the Freedom - she is a great ship!
