Rare Lois R Posted September 2, 2009 #427 Share Posted September 2, 2009 Hi everyone:) Just thought I would let ya'll know the prices of my January cruise on SUMMIT to the Southern Caribbean had big price reductions in the last couple of days! The supplement is still the same, but for me, when the price is lower it makes a great big difference:) My price for an inside cabin went down so much I was able to take all that savings and upgrade to a balcony for only 116.00:D (above what I had originally paid). If you want to try Celebrity or if you already enjoy their product this is really something:D If you go to Celebrity's website you can see what they are offering. I am VERY HAPPY!!!:)
cjcruiser27 Posted September 2, 2009 #428 Share Posted September 2, 2009 Hi..I see you love Celebrity! I am trying them on a TA this fall on the Summit. Do you get better deals if you book a cruise while on board or does it really matter? Just wondering, I saw on another thread that they give OB credit if you book on board. Amount depending on # of cruise days. Thanks and have fun! I go solo as well so I love seeing the price drop! SASSYnLV Posted September 2, 2009 #429 Share Posted September 2, 2009 I'm sailing on the Radiance of the Seas, RC out of San Diego on Jan. 2 and because of their price drop, I upgraded from an outside to a balcony for $8. Seems all the lines are dropping fares.

I am VERY HAPPY!!!:) Thanks for the tip, Lois. We're doing the Panama Canal in January, so that won't work. I will keep an eye on other Caribbean cruises later in the winter for bargains. There were some great ones last year. Say hello to the Mercury for me!

I hope you have a wonderful time:D With the "Passages" program you are describing, you don't REALLY get a SBC, as you pay $100 for a future booking. Then, per my TA, they credit the $100 SBC into your onboard account. I LOVE Celebrity, and I currently have 2 future bookings available. I just wish they were more forthcoming about this so called 'credit"
cusyl Posted September 4, 2009 #438 Share Posted September 4, 2009 For anyone interested, the December 7th sailing of RCL Grandeur has had three price drops for Cat N (inside) since the WOW sale for solo cruisers. :D
cruisinryan Posted September 6, 2009 Author #439 Share Posted September 6, 2009 RCI Serenade of the Seas has great rates for 12-12-09. It's a 7 night sailing out of San Juan, with 5 ports (6 including San Juan), and one sea day. I got an oceanview for under $800 including all taxes and fees. cruisinryan Posted September 7, 2009 Author #441 Share Posted September 7, 2009 Off-topic,You wrote that the 'ship shudders'. What does that mean? Perhaps I chose the wrong word ...I'll change that in my signature. The ship noticeably vibrated on the lower decks, at the rear of the ship ...which included the aft main dining room. It's not that bad. I think it's a feature of their propulsion system. cbtravel1 Posted September 10, 2009 #442 Share Posted September 10, 2009 I booked a 7-night Alaska cruise with Royal Caribbean on the Rhapsody of the Seas. The double rate is $525pp and single rate is only $754 for an inside cat M. That's less than 150%. I am so excited, this will be my first Alaskan cruise. I am VERY HAPPY!!!:) Thanks for the heads up. I just booked Summit for January and the rate was great. Even got an obc. I had a future cruise deposit and I was beginning to think I wouldn't get to use it because of Celebrity's rates. Even the airfare was great on Continental (EWR-SJU around $250. r/t including taxes). I like most of the ports but I'll probably stay onboard in St. Thomas and Antigua only because we only get 1 sea day and I don't think that's enough time to enjoy the ship and when you have a ship like the Summit (I've been on the Millie and Connie so I'm guessing) you want to spend time. I also noticed that my Elite benefits include a lot more stuff including use of the Persian Garden on port days only.
AmoMondo Posted September 11, 2009 #446 Share Posted September 11, 2009 Just heard today that MSC are offering various Transatlantic sailings from Italy to FLL or S America starting at £473 for an inside. See below for more details, The SS on a inside or oceanview is usually 90% and for balcony and suites 100%. So really good prices for a long voyage Please note these are all cruise only fares so you'd have the cost of airfares on top, but still a good deal especially for those travelling solo MSC Lirica - Genoa to Santos 5th October 2009 - 18 nights Inside Cabins £472 Outside Cabin £559 Balcony Cabin £646 No Single Supplements! MSC Poesia - Venice to Miami 24th October 2009 - 17 nights Inside Cabins £510 Outside Cabin £629 Balcony Cabin £799 No Single Supplements! MSC Opera - Venice to Rio de Janeiro 26th October 2009 - 17 nights Inside Cabin £473 Outside Cabin £559 Balcony Cabin £559 No Single Supplements! MSC Musica - Venice to Santos 1st November 2009 - 18 nights Inside Cabin £516 Outside Cabin £620 Balcony Cabin £801 No Single Supplements! MSC Orchestra - Genoa to Santos 1st December 2009 - 17 nights Inside Cabin £510 Outside Cabin £629 Balcony Cabin £799 No Single Supplements! bandber Posted September 11, 2009 #447 Share Posted September 11, 2009 Cor, I am about to go to the US with F.Olsen and paid 10 times that median £600 price range of these trips - yes, I know it's for 40 days but the prices v length of tour still do not compute, do they? I shall look at the 1 Dec trip, I think! Looks interesting - thank you very much for the info.:)
bandber Posted September 11, 2009 #448 Share Posted September 11, 2009 I just found this thread and I am almost crying! You guys get such good deals. I paid $8000 (approx) for a Transatlantic cruise later this month - yes, I know it's 40 days and I'll see some great places BUT!! it has been reduced last week to $4000 (a different cruise agent) - and we have no automatic refund of the difference, as I think you have over there! Can I come and live with you, please? Rip-off UK, as usual!
cruise pup Posted September 12, 2009 #449 Share Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) The inside gty comes to under $475. with the govt fees. There are also outside and balcony gty prices. The best part is I can use my future cruise credit which expires 12/15/09! I made it just under the wire. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the gtys did not say "unavailable." I thought I'd got a good deal on my Livorno to Durban sailing paying about £1650 for a suite with single occupany (Brochure prrice was about £8000, early booking price around £4000) they waved the single supplement and gave a further discount so I was very happy,,,,now I'm slightly refretting not having waited as the Brazil sailings are an absolute bargain. Still I've nevr been to Africa, so sure I'll manage to enjoy myself!
