CruisingT Posted September 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2008 My husband uses equal for his coffee (alot of it too!) I usually pack a ziplock bag when we travel. Does RC have equal on their ships..... He doesnt' like to substiute blue packets :D Thank you!
Trainman-2 Posted September 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2008 We use the "yellow" packets and take our own with us. Every RCI cruise I have been on seems to have plenty of "blue" and "pink" packets. Usually the "blue" is Equil but it may not always be. Better safe than sorry! Take what you like to use! Sue L Posted September 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2008 Yes there was Equal on our ship last week, but if you are that concerned bring some.
Rare silentbob007 Posted September 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2008 I've always seen "blue" and "pink" packets, but I can't remember if they were name brand or generic.
evanandsamuel'smom Posted September 28, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2008 they do have equal and sweet and low. My mom and I use splenda, they didn't have it readily available, had to ask for it, so next time we are taking our own.
rubrrick Posted September 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2008 The "pinks" are private lableled for Royal Caribbean which is Sweet'N Low. There are also blue packets (Equal) and yellow packets. We, too, bring extras from home to keep in our cabin for morning coffee. Rick
Rare Lionesss Posted September 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 28, 2008 I know August was so long ago. On the Mariner there was Splenda, Equal, and Sweet and Low. In the restuarants, and especially abundant in the coffee shop on the promenade. Later

jjb415 Posted September 29, 2008 #10 Share Posted September 29, 2008 From my experience, about a year and 1/2 ago RCI had pink, blue and yellow packets, but, they were generic and all seemed to contain the same powder. Lately they have been the real Equal, Splenda, and Sweet-n-Low. Yippee !! But, YMMV. :) Have a great trip ! You've gotten good advice from everyone here. MattInFLL Posted September 29, 2008 #11 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Blue and pink are always easy to find - yellow (Splenda) usually requires asking, but it is there. For those who love equal, I always say: check out its history. You may switch to Splenda, too.

Lushpuppy Posted September 29, 2008 #14 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Are you still in the U.S. not able to buy sweeteners in tab form? We have had them here in UK for years and years and yet whenever I am no the ship or anywhere in U.S. people lift my sweeteners (ie splenda) and ask where did I get them? You know, little boxes of 300 tabs??? About the size of a matchbox full of sweetners?? Seems so odd that you only have packets??
marylizcat Posted September 29, 2008 #15 Share Posted September 29, 2008 It seems strange to me to care what make the sweeteners are. I have used sweeteners for over 40 years, but have never given a moment's thought to what brand they are! If buying them for myself, I just get the cheapest. Never noticed any difference at all! I obviously don't have sensitive taste buds!
