How is the amount of deposit determined for a cruise? $250pp sticks in my mind but I think I have read somewhere it can change for longer cruises.

Deposit is $100pp for up to 5 nights, then goes to $250. I know it's more for longer cruises, and it may also be more for Holiday cruises.

I put down $450 per person deposit for a 12 night cruise.

I believe it's $900 for 9+ nights. I know that for our upcoming cruise ( 11 nts ) it's $450 pp. I think that $900 is the most you can pay towards your deposit.

Just so that everyone should know, Joyce is giving the dollar amounts for TWO. Others have used per person amounts.

To sum up:

 

up to 5 nights - $100 per person deposit is required

 

6 to 9 nights - $250 per person

 

10+ nights - $450 per person
