azalice Posted October 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2008 We are thinking about doing the Iceland, Norway, & British Isles trip - 12 days in July 2009, rd trip London (Crown Princess). Has anyone done this trip? If so, please give some opinions of places, scenery, etc.
Flyer Posted October 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Outstanding Itinerary...Go for it. You won't regret a minute. :) Do plan to arrive in London a few days early, hop the tube and enjoy London.
TXTraveler76 Posted October 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Hi, I have done several of the transatlantic crossings that included Norway, Iceland and the British Isles. It is fantastic and I would count this as one of my favorites. Any chance to visit I would not hesitate.
Marie-Claude Posted October 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Same advice... I too did a British Isles cruise, and just came back from a transatlantic on the Sea that visited Norway, Shetlands, Faroes, Iceland and Greenland... absolutely fantastic itinerary! (Both with TXTraveler76 in fact!!!) I would go back (and will) in a flash! I arranged several private tours on both these cruises (British Isles and Transat) so if you have any questions, feel free to ask!! MC
DougH Posted October 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2008 I've done a 14 day cruise to Norway, and last fall a Transatlantic with stops in Norway, Iceland & Greenland. Both were fantastic and I'd do them again anytime. Before the TA I spent a couple of days in Southampton and did day trips to both Winchester and Portsmouth. Lots of fun. Check out the ports of call board for lots of great info on things to see & do
Druke I Posted October 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2008 We've been to all (not on one cruise however), and we think they are all worthwhile.
jhannah Posted October 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2008 I agree. The entire area is lovely, and has so much history. Just get in all you can reasonably get to.
azalice Posted October 18, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Thank you for your responses. I really appreciate them. We just booked a July 31 trip on the Crown Princess to the region. Already excited about it.
mycruz Posted October 18, 2008 #9 Share Posted October 18, 2008 You will love this trip, don't forget to start a Roll Call if there isn't one yet! Sailed with both TXTraveler and Marie Claude which I met on our roll call, our roll call is still going more than a month after returning. Iceland, Greenland, Faroes and Shetlands all exceeded my expectaions!
Rare Essiesmom Posted October 19, 2008 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2008 Did the QE2 12 days Iceland and Norway from Southampton in August. Great trip...Go over to the Ports of call section and read about tours. EM
