Okay- this is my tgird screen name ( I changed a couple times) so I am no "newbie. Is LOL

"lots of Luck?" Lots of Love? Something eklse? It is used here all the time, but neither meaning fits many times. "Latitudes or Loungers?"

Thank you.

And, if it is Lots of Luck, why is it used so frequently?

Kinda slow here...

Love our liqour...........LOL ;);)

Now now - don't confuse people. LOL

Seriously its "laughing out loud"

or if u need something stronger: LMAO "rolling on the floor laughing my a** off"

So this is the one I frequently don't get on CC?

:o This is an embarassed face. Why do so many people start their posts with an embarassed face? Because they are shy? Maybe I do get it in this case, but ....... :)

To the OP: also, in case you were wondering, and because it seems to be specific to CC or perhaps cruising forums:

DH = dear/darling/d**n husband/hubby

DW = dear/darling/d**n wife

DS = dear/darling son

DD = dear/darling daughter

etc.

That's growing in popularity. I noticed it first years ago on weddingchannel forums. :)

The language (and Acronyms) is constantly changing.

Prior to the Internet, LOL meant "little old ladies" at least to those of us in the San Francisco Bay Area.

It usually was meant as a term of derision, coined by the area's favorite columnist, Herb Caen of the SF Chronicle.
